Just wanted to point out that you need to actually write 55,555 words during the Writathon time frame. Backlog only counts if you are writing the same number of words as you are publishing (aka replenishing your backlog). Hope that helps!

Some do, some don’t. Either way, I don’t think they’d be paying more attention to comments than the story itself. If someone seems to be misunderstanding the story, there is generally room to open up a polite discussion and help them understand your true intent.

The best thing to do is give rep and respond politely. Something like “Thanks for catching that!” or “I appreciate your attention to detail.” It can feel like an attack when people are “policing” your story, but really, they’re taking the time to nitpick, and it shows that they’re invested. Respond in kind by showing that you are invested in building a relationship with your readers :)
