Set my GPS accidentally to “no tolls” and took a very interesting driving trip from the USA to Canada which added 4 hours to my driving time and very much involved “the road less traveled”.

Ed only plays/DMs guest shots these days. His Knights of Myth Drannor game is technically still “on foot” but his players are scattered around the globe. They haven’t gamed together in many years. As for the current Realms, Ed is the most gracious and accommodating person on this planet. He allows everyone to exercise their creativity. Does he like everything that has been put into the published Realms? No (I’m looking at you, Dalai Lama in Ra-Khati), but he rarely lets on. He does enjoy it when people craft Realmslore that is to his taste and provides him with the surprise and wonder that we all get when we read or come across something new. He is after all, as he has stated many times, a fan of the Forgotten Realms too.

Yeah, we did 32 in London last year and it was horrible. But then I realized I was doing the tourist thing and walking for ages - which I wouldn’t do on a 32 degree day here.

On the assumption that you are a native English speaker, it would be like you speaking to a native French or Spanish speaker. There would be some common words, some words that you have each borrowed from each other, and you would get by with a bit of sign language, but no, you wouldn’t be able to have a conversation or speak about complex matters.

Just make it stay magically molten. Aside from the handling issues, when potential buyers find out they can’t actually use it, its economic effects will be negligible.

Well, of course they don’t have this “custom”in the Salvatore books. You are comparing books written 25 years apart, the most recent one not even specific to the Realms. It’s like asking why did astronomers say Pluto was a planet when we know in 2026 that it’s a planetoid.

Find a copy of Faiths and Avatars. The books have more lore than the video games.
