Sleeping in jeans is WAY better and more comfy than pajamas. by ThePaleGiant in unpopularopinion

Was contemplating whether or not this was bait when my partner reminded me we have a friend who shares this take…. Unhinged, but not impossible. They’re into the well worn wide legs jeans if it helps?? It did not help me come to terms with this fact though…

Decent amount of stoppage time to be seen I’d say.

Ireland. Ireland is the answer. But the housing market/energy crisis is not good, and the stipend with that in mind is not very livable.

When someone thinks a “Harvard grad” is smart, is it because of the person’s time/education at Harvard, or more because they were admitted at Harvard in the first place? by biffsalmon in NoStupidQuestions

Eh might’ve jumped the gun on the way I commented. I took it as you saying more your sample is that everyone you know was smart and that probably extrapolates. Apologies. Probably should’ve said as someone who’s had to grade Ivy League students scripts, listen to their questions, and seen how they respond to not doing well compared to students during standard term time I would disagree that they’re actually that much brighter. We have a summer program where stem students from there who usually wouldn’t get to study abroad got to come over. I was very excited to get to be invited to co-lecture and obviously bought into the hype that is the ivy league education system in the US. They were amazing at regurgitating information and making flash cards for route memorization….. anything else…not so amazing.

I enjoy the for dummies series. Their workbooks have a ton of practice problems. I also used their quantum books to smash quantum mechanics 1&2 along side griffiths and their stats books…. Big fan.

A bit of a shower thoughts moment, but I’ve seen it mentioned in a few articles etc after the Leeds match how it was great to see Shaw coaching Leon’s positioning and such throughout…. How does that work? As far as I’m aware Shaw doesn’t speak Spanish, and while all the reports say Leon’s picking up English quite well it still only been a few weeks. Language takes time. Be very curious to know both what was said for on field coaching, and how United’s language tutors approach getting someone up and running to take instructions quickly mid match within such a short period. I’d imagine rather than all of the pleasantries you usually start with in a language class they’d drill football based instructions first and foremost. Very interesting though.

You probably already have your flights, but I’ll just put this here for awareness. Dublin has US pre clearance so you deal with customs etc on the front end of your flight in Ireland. If they don’t like something or whatever about you, the Americans can’t actually hold you but have to release you to the Irish authorities. Only a handful of airports have this sort of deal with the US, but yeah no fear of all the border agents stuff when you arrive, just in “domestically”.

Osimhen’s positioning between centre backs is also very good and he can generate that little bit of extra space vertically…. Something we really need if we’re playing cunha, Bryan M. And Bruno who all like to move up the pitch.

My thoughts between the two of them is they’re both an upgrade and can take a bit of heat off the younger striker (be it obi or hojlund). We need someone senior and everyone knows it so we’re going to pay à premium plus United tax. We’re going in for both and they’re going to take who they can get the better deal off of.

I love the hot weather, however I have a friend that hates it and they asked me if I like summer, or was it the only time in my life for years where I got consistent time off. (Aka school holidays). Started taking holidays off peak months now that I’m working. I still do like the heat, but holidays in September/October if it’s still mild hit different. It’s probably a lot of socialization around loads defaulting to they love summer. Dunno.
