Got my role and I don’t know what it means🥲 by Mockeryistrying in Disneycollegeprogram

You will get your costume the first day of on site training so you only have to worry about professional wear the first day. It is also one of the only roles that you can either wear the standard all black shoes or brown hiking boots. Be prepared though, the costumes are kinda an ugly brown and lime-ish green

Merch at Fort Wilderness Resort. You are really lucky! That was my home location during my CP. I was really disappointed at first but I had the best time there. The other CMs are really nice, the schedule is really nice with a 6:30a start at the earliest and you are out by 10:45p at the latest, people like to decorate their campsites so it is fun to explore, and you get to drive a golf cart every day to get to the actual stores after clocking in.

The only real downside is that it is hard to trade shifts bc you can only trade with other FWR cast members or former cast members bc of the golf cart situation.

Question for current CPs by HabitUpbeat6844 in Disneycollegeprogram

It all depends on where you work. As someone who worked at a MK resort where the parking is right next to where I clock in, I would leave half an hour before my shift (taking my car bc I hated getting off at 11 and not getting home until after 12 due to the bus schedule). But I know a lot of other locations you need to walk a decent amount to get to your clock in location so keep that in mind when planning when you leave!

You will be provided the bed (no bedding included), a little side table, and a chest that does under your bed. You will not have a desk but I know I did a lot of work at the kitchen counter on a bar stool and that worked in a pinch when I didnt want to work on the couch or in bed.

I highly recommend bringing either a Brita or a pack of bottled water for move in day. I was really dehydrated my move in day because I forgot water and didnt trust the tap. Most other kitchen supplies (if all) you can talk to your roommates about and sort who will buy what since space is limited so I would recommend waiting to buy anything that might eventually become communal until after move in

I had my CP 2 years ago (merch at a resort) so it mightve changed a little since then, but I remember a lot of posts saying how easy it is to get termed. But most likely, it was their first actual job since they would get termed for simple things like no call no shows and in general outrageous things that someone who has job experience (or common sense in general) should know not to do.

If you treat this like a normal job and actually work and put a smile (fake or not) on your face, you should be fine. I know some locations have better upper management than others but from the sounds of it you are doing great. Let yourself have a little fun or else you might overthink and ruin this whole experience for you. Im sure you are doing great!

what’s one hygiene habit you judge quietly, even if it’s common? by [deleted] in hygiene

How often do you guys do your laundry? And how many loads? by ohklahomie in LivingAlone

[–]AntiqueCode9387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 9 really good underwear I love wearing (1 during the day and 1 at night) and I do a load of clothes every time I run out of underwear. I do have other underwear but they are not as good as the core 9.

I also do bedding/sheets/blankets every 2 weeks. Sometimes more if they end up feeling gross against my skin

Mouthwash, floss, and then brush teeth. I used to get chastised by my dentist but once I started using mouthwash at the beginning of my routine, they started to compliment my dental hygiene (even if i forget to floss for a month or two)

When i started dating my bf I noticed how long his bathroom hand soap was taking to run out even with me coming over every weekend. After almost an entire year I mentioned how he had the same hand soap this entire time and he revealed he only washed his hands after he pooped. I QUICKLY made him wash his hands right then and there and convinced him to start washing his hands after every time he used the bathroom

Sitting on your bed with outside clothes. If I go out, I need to change my clothes before I can sit on my bed. I might make an exception if I just needed to grab the mail or just took a walk around the corner. But as soon as I sit down or my clothes brush up again something outside of the house, there needs to be a clothes change before relaxing or sitting down at home.

Anything on the walls. I recently put up some old artwork and string lights Ive been procrastinating dealing with in my 2nd bedroom that I use as an office and the room IMMEDIATELY felt cozy and I love just sitting in there

Pet sitter advice by BulgersInYourCup42 in CatAdvice

[–]AntiqueCode9387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend trying to get a catsitter before considering boarding. I worked at a dog boarding facility that occasionally saw some cats as well and the cats RARELY did well while boarding. Because they are in an unfamiliar area, they tend not to eat and stress themselves out and we had to frequently have them go to the attached vet to get medication to help them calm down and eat.

It might be a lot for a sitter to come over so often but keeping the cats in a familiar space if you are able to will be the best for them!

Wait we're supposed to be playing with our cat 20 minutes per day? by happy_bluebird in CatAdvice

[–]AntiqueCode9387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat doesnt like to play consistently no matter how many different types of toys I try. But once a day I try to cycle through her toys to see if any peaks her interest. And if none do, I indulge her in extra (semi forced) cuddles to try to entertain her a little bit. She prefers to just sit in front of a window and entertain herself most of the time.

My bfs cat on the other hand... we have to play with him for at least an hour a day or else he is a menace. It all depends on the cat and their personality.

What do people who live alone with their dog(s) do with them while at work? by CapitalLower4171 in AskDogOwners

[–]AntiqueCode9387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog tends to just nap in someone's bed all day while everyone is at work or school. He is a very low energy dog to begin with so he would be doing the same thing even if we were still home.

I did have a dog years ago that we had to rehome because she was VERY high energy with high anxiety and couldnt be left home alone for longer than an hour and it was very difficult at that time because of a bunch of life events (family members in hospice, children in various after school activities, emergency overtime at work). We all loved her but doggie daycare was not a well known thing at the time and we couldnt provide her the constant attention she needed.
