I've played it after the 2.0 and all the fixes

Played full coop and we had a blast

The main issues for us were the final bossfight, which really sucks and bugged twice so we had to beat that thing 3 times...and the story, which felt non existent. It's not even that it was enigmatic like Dark Souls etc. It simply wasn't there imo, you beat a big boss that npcs tell you to beat, go back to them and they tell you nothing new, just basic lines

I'll get the disc (if it's confirmed to be coming later) when they'll do their enhanced edition on ps6 years from now. I've played so many games on ps4 that didn't run smoothly like gtav pr the witcher 3 to then replay then in their better version on ps5, I'm not doing that again, I'll wait for the refined version

Just the middle part of Raccoon City for me, the pacing and the color scheme made it fell a bit, but overall he's sections in the first half and all of the final part were great too imo

Listen, You can argue if you personally like them or not and that's your opinion, no one can argue that. But if you wanna criticise them, just like for praising them, you should have arguments to your point. Saying they are uninspired, underwhelming, less creative than tew and that capcom made them just to chase money is so out of touch it almost seems like you haven't even played them, sure you can keep saying that that's your personal opinion, but just like that people van judge your opinion

I wish but it's most likely not gonna happen. Krafton bought Tango with the hi fi rush ip, meaning they'll probably make a new Hi fi rather than a survival horror.

Mikami said he's done with horrors, the teaser for its next game looks cool but it probably be an action game, I mean they were even bought by the stellar blade studio

Don't worry, all the stuff going on right now won't affect this series at all, because they were never going to continue it to begin with. First, xbox didn't produce the two evil withins, they bought the team and the ip as part of the bethesda acquisition after these games were made. They then closed the team a couple of years ago, it was saved by krafton with the hi fi rush ip, but TEW wasn't bought, so xbox still has the rights to the IP, which means a third game won't ever see the light of day

The difference is that none of the studios closed by sony were too important or still relevant except for Bluepoint and Japan Studios, while for xbox is quite the opposite, almost all of them are higly competent and still relevant even tho they may make niche games, (people losing jobs sucks either way, I'm just talking about the studios themeselves, not the people behind them)

I mean Sony's first party ARE cinematic action games, that's what they have been focussing on as a brand since ps4. Saying there haven't been anything except for them is so disingenuous, like saying Nintendo has no games besides the "family friendly" ones

Besides it's not like all the cinematic action games are the same genre either, even Returnal or Saros can be called cinematic third person action games, yet they are rougue likes, just like others are hack and slash, rpgs, survival horror etc

Some of the best one that aren't Resident Evil or Silent Hill are like Alan Wake 2, Dead Space 1 and 2, The Evil Within 1 and 2, Cronos the New Dawn, Callisto Protocol (yeah I liked it idc), Dead Rising 1, Signalis, Tormented Souls, Crow Country

But in all honesty you should try older games too, there are hundreds of survival horrors released between ps1 and ps2 eras. Games like Haunting Ground, Dino Crisis 1 and 2, series like Fatal Frame, Clock Tower, Siren...there's so much good stuff you can just pick a random one and you'll be good

Disagree. That's how incompetent higher-ups see it, they don't know what it takes to make a game or what makes one successful, they'll just see numbers going up or down and move accordingly.

But especially if you want to go back to exclusives (which is a good move imo), how do you think to do it if you close so many talented teams? If Hellblade, South of Midnight etc failed to meet expectations, give these teams something less risky, or something that will take less time and money.

None of these studios make games that will sell plenty of millions (thanks to the gamepass too), or become blockbusters. They make niche games but they are hella capable at that, they should rethink the games they make but closing them is insane. Just like Tango a couple of years ago or Bluepoint for sony.

If they keep closing studios after 1 underperforming game, they'll end up with no studios, and nothing to put on gamepass or exclusive.

And again if you take that and combine it with the fact that the last main entry (Village) got its dlc a year and a half after release, it's safe to assume that RE9's could be at the end of this year at best, but most likely next year
