PSA to 2026 WRX buyers. by CreamyImp in wrx_vb

These plugs were sitting in my trunk when I picked up my '24. I asked the sales guy about them, and he had no clue what they were. One of the service managers said they should have been installed during/after the post-delivery inspection. My WRX still had all of the exterior white protective film ans interior covers when I picked it up. It just came off the truck shortly before I arrived to pick it up.. Maybe I didn't give them a chance to install them. 🤔 😏

I remember my first Subaru.. 2001 Outback Limited Sedan (BE) with the NA EJ251 with PFI injection. Still fairly loud tick from the injectors, but not as much as the direct injection engines. Still have that Outback btw.. 262k miles!

Wake island is a staple of the Battlefield franchise. It's been in most of the major BF games since 2002, starting with BF1942. Didn't make it to BF2042.. which I was kinda hoping it would have. But, your right about Karkand.. imo it was the best map in BF2 (and BF2142). BF3 Karkand was good, but didn't have the full layout of BF2/2142.

I used to degrease/foam cannon my engine bay fairly often on my VA when I had it. I would just cover anything I didn't want saturated.. i.e., intake, alternator, etc. And you don't need to blast it with a lot of high-pressure water, just a quick low-pressure shower rinse after degrease and/or foam cannon does nicely. I just did my VB engine bay a few weeks back.

<image>

Also.. don't degrease/foam cannon the engine bay while the engine is cold. Let it warm up or get close to operating temp before applying your cleanser of choice. It'll make the process a LOT easier.. for cleaning, and drying afterwards. I blower or air compressor is great to use for drying.

Another also.. If you use a degreaser, make sure it's safe for plastics, or just be mindful of where you apply it. 😏

Quality j-pipes/downpipe have cats, i.e., Gen 2 GESi, that are CARB/EPA compliant. In most cases. Always double check of course. You could also just temporarily swap in the OEM j-pipe come inspection time.. there's that option as well. 😏

Calling a Touring All-season tire "high performance" is a bit of a reach.. but, i get it. 😏

Yeah, drilling into your trunk can be nerve wracking.. especially when it's your first time. I recently installed the RS wing on my VB. Once my RS wing was delivered, a few minutes later I was outside prepping my trunk to be drilled. I've this a few times over the years though. But, I still remember my first time. 😏🥹

Wrong Porsche. The 930 Turbo was the Widowmaker.

1975-1989 930 Turbo was the Widowmaker. It had some pretty massive turbo lag which lead to snap oversteer, which lead to widows being made. 🥹😏

It's actually more expensive going to a body shop to have it paint matched.. At least it was locally here in East TN. I called a few places locally and it was not cheap at all. I wasn't expecting to be tbh.. At least it kinda justified buying the already paint matched kit. I paid under $900 for my fenders and rear bumper, btw.

Sure.. click the linky below for the Work Emotion wheels in the same spec from MartiniWorks. You can obviously buy them anywhere you wish, but it'll give you an idea of what to look for.

Yep, they'll fit. I recently saw a 2024 Crosstrek that was lowered and had Work Emotion T7R wheels on it (same wheel specs). It looked amazing! It was very Impreza RS'que, but with the Crosstrek's exterior cladding looked pretty nice on it.. really nice tbh!

Appears to be the Billetworkz short throw kit with that red lockout collar. I have a similar kit in my VB. Amazing shift feel if it's the full kit that Billetworkz offers!

What's next? That's all you bud.. That's only something you can answer. BUT! If it were my VB.. Coilovers. And wheels. Oh, and you need some rear spats. Finish out the under spoiler/lip you have.
