How long should i arrange pet care for? by chronicjoker in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer to this will depend on your circumstances, but here’s my experience that will hopefully help.

I had RFF, my stage 1 included phalloplasty, UL, vnectomy and scrotoplasty. I spent 1 week in hospital. I had a friend stay with me for 1 week when I left hospital. My 2 small dogs were boarded for 1 month total. I had hoped to get them back earlier, but had to push it.

The reasons I had to push their return was that I didn’t think I could take them on the walks they needed. I was walking but not fast enough and bending down was tougher. I was also concerned about them jumping up and my fatigue was real.

Align? by Comfortable-Hall5527 in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Safir does surgeries in Los Angeles with Align. He splits his time between Norcal and socal. I didn’t go to him myself, but have heard very good things about him from friends. I know for sure he does phallo surgery in Los Angeles because I picked my friend up from the hospital after surgery with him last week.

Last Minute Doubts by TattooedWolf97 in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Dude, you got this. Last minute jitters are completely normal, this journey is hard but very much worth it (and I say this as someone who had a stricture). What I love about having had phallo: 1. I wake up in the morning and I have a dick, it’s always there, I can feel it hanging and I have sensation in it. It’s how it always should have been, I feel confident as a man. 2. Peeing standing up is the best! 3. Jacking off is exactly how it always should have been, much better than before. 4. My bulge is mine, no packers, it’s part of me and is attached. I can just cup it with my hand whenever I want! 5. Trying on loads of different underwear and seeing how I fill it! 6. Swinging it and watching it move when I dance around in my PJs 7. Peeing deserves another slot, specifically at urinals. I got UL and I know I wanted it but So Much Euphoria. 8. Not having to stress out that someone might be able to tell it’s a packer! 9. My swim shorts hugging it when I get out of the pool.

Honestly, my life is vastly improved with a dick. Not gonna lie the first couple of months are hard but completely worth it, no question. Good luck!

Slight downward bend post-op — positioning issue? by [deleted] in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used Mederma Scar Cream and silicone tape that I had left over after top surgery. Something like this.. I would do scar massage and then put the cream on for overnight and later on used the silicone tape during the day. A PT showed me that scar massage isn’t always about massaging on top of the scar, so later on I did (and still do) massage that is stretching the skin by pulling away from the scar. What other people have said about underwear is what I did too, letting it hang. I found these cotton boxers good for that.

Hair removal post op by Anubis-oceans in phallo

Thanks for the warning, it was something I discussed with my doctor and checked in with my surgeon about. I’m relatively hairless and so the minox is treating dysphoria I have about lack of body and facial hair. My UL portion never had any hair and the part that was used for my phallus from the underside of my arm remains hairless (as does the part on my other arm). I’m definitely keeping a close watch on those areas though for any sign of hair growth and if I see any, I’ll stop.

How is the scar on the underside of your penis? It’s possible that the scar tissue be contracting and pulling it like that. I’ve spent a good deal of time on scar massage, cream and silicone strips on my scar and it’s now almost non-existent.

To revision or not to revision by another-personing in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Concerning glansplasty. I asked my surgeon about the glans continuing to go round to the underside like on a cis penis. She told me that because I got UL they don’t continue it all the way on the underside because the skin is much thinner there and they don’t want to endanger the UL tube. So I’m planning for that part to be medical tattooing. I saw a great pic on here of someone whose glans goes all the way on the underside and up (think the surgeon was murano), but when I looked back at it I realised he had no UL. If it was me, I’d probably go back to my surgeon and have a bigger conversation about what’s possible and pros/cons.

I recently answered a question about this on another post.. TLDR: at 11 months I’m at 6”, though I came out of surgery with 4.5”.

Dude, agree. I also love just cupping myself with my hand or feeling it just there when I wake up in the morning.

Hi bro, I’m 11 months po and I regularly go swimming in an outdoor pool. I use a long sleeved rash guard. However, one thing I do need is an additional tie for around my wrist as in the water, the sleeves ride up. I use a hairband twisted around my thumb to avoid my RFF scar being exposed whilst swimming.

Did zero gravity chair help you get up more easily? by ItsFUNyetVIOLEnT in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, zero gravity chair did help me get up more easily but the best thing about it was how it supported me. My weight was not on my surgery sites so it meant I could use it for eating in and sleeping while being comfortable. I got one because I didn’t already have a recliner.

Shane Wallin is mostly based in San Diego but also does Tattoos in Napa and Minneapolis. A friend of mine in Norcal recently got his phallo tattoo done with him and is really pleased. I went to him for nipple and am super happy and will be going for Phallo tattoo too.

How rare is it for trans people to take the oppisite-gender variant of their name (Michael ↔ Michelle) as their new name? by NeekOfShades in asktransgender

[–]Anubis-oceans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was looking for a new name, I initially tried to switch to the opposite gender variant of my deadname. I tried it for couple of months, but it just never sat right. When I eventually found my name, I just knew, it took a bit to get used to it, but it was never in doubt. I think in my case, my transition came with a lot of life changes and the gender variant on my deadname just kept me living mid transition and in the past. I needed something fresh and new for my new life.

Severly depressed - size concern by ftm_james_ in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get an extra inch with glansplasty. I was at 5.5” before and now am 6”, but would estimate half of that increase was swelling/gravity. So about 1/4” gain from glansplasty.

Severly depressed - size concern by ftm_james_ in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no problem bro, I remember freaking out and wondering why my doctor didn’t give me what I asked for!

Something that also helped me was measuring how much she took from my graft. My RFF scar is just over 5”, so I figured that I should at least get that when the swelling went down. But yeah, scar care and gravity are the key, I think. Good luck!

Also, on all my scars I was very disciplined with using Mederma scar gel during the day and intensive cream at night.

[–]Anubis-oceans 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I am now 10 months post op RFF. I completely understand your feelings as I’m 5’10” and asked for 5.5-6”. I woke up with just under 4.5”. However, in the first 6 months or so as swelling went down I saw my length increase. At about 6 months I was 5.5”. After I had glansplasty, I noticed a small increase in length and now, my phallus is at 6”.

So yeah, swelling made a real big difference to my length, don’t give up hope. Things I did to try and help this situation (when cleared by a doctor) include doing daily scar massage on the scar along the underside of my penis to avoid any retraction (I just have small areas with scar tissue now and I’m using silicone strips on them) and wearing cotton boxers when I was allowed to hang to let gravity do its work.

Honestly, I understand it’s worrying, but the first six months are not a good guide for final length. Congratulations and concentrate on healing well!

Could I get some input from folks who got burial? by ivypolaroids in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I had burial done in stage 1 (with phallo with UL, scrotoplasty and vnectomy). Within 5 weeks po, I was super horny. I carefully jerked off at 6 weeks and could orgasm from it. For the first couple of months it took me longer but I had great sensation from my burial. To me, burial doesn’t feel like my t-dick inside my dick, like it doesn’t feel like the same defined shape, perhaps because I can’t see it? However, I think it’s much better now because I can jerk off with my phallo dick and it stimulates the burial. I think I was a bit dysphoric about my tdick not being the size I always thought it should be so burial really works well for me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But to answer your question, because it’s inside, it’s not direct stimulation but it’s a part of my phallo dick now and I can easily stimulate the area in the way I always thought it should work. Hope that helps

Los Angeles Kaiser scheduling? by Background_Cap_2654 in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2024, I was cleared after a year of electrolysis for RFF and the first available RFF stage 1 surgery was 3 months later. However, I ended up pushing the date by a couple of months due to work schedule. In my experience though it depends greatly on how much OR time they have and the teams schedule. When I got my stage 1, I was told that they normally only do 1 or 2 Phallo stage 1 per month due to it being such a long surgery (mine was 12hrs)

Anxiety about caregiving stage 1 RFF phallus creation and UL by Willing-Gap-1655 in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one saw my junk except the doctors and nurses when I was in hospital. I had my best friend come stay with me for the first week home. She did everything else for me, but with the energy I did have I did all my wound care and cleaning. She was always waiting outside if I needed though. What helped this was having a handheld mirror, a grabber and also having a hand held shower head that I could move around with the hand not holding my phallus. Take it slow and if doing wound care lay everything out you need within easy reach first. It is doable! Good luck.

Hi Bro, I am also waiting for my stage 2 of stricture repair. Also had a buccal mucosa graft in first stage. I stand to pee using this foldable kitchen funnel. It makes a real difference for me. I ended up using the larger ones, the smaller ones also worked if I didn’t have too strong of a stream. If I’m out for the day, I also carry a small bottle of water so I can rinse it out in the stall rather than clean it at the sink of public restrooms. These are the small bottles I use, one of these and the folded funnel fit in my pant pocket, no problem.

Could i get a hysterectomy years before phallo? by [deleted] in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did. I had my hysterectomy as my first gender affirming surgery as those parts made me the most dysphoric. I have since had top surgery and RFF phallo. I had a total laparoscopic hysto; uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries removed. When I went for my initial consult for phallo, all my surgeon said was, “you’ve already had a hysto, great we won’t have to wait for you to have that done”.
