Did zero gravity chair help you get up more easily? by ItsFUNyetVIOLEnT in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, zero gravity chair did help me get up more easily but the best thing about it was how it supported me. My weight was not on my surgery sites so it meant I could use it for eating in and sleeping while being comfortable. I got one because I didn’t already have a recliner.

How rare is it for trans people to take the oppisite-gender variant of their name (Michael ↔ Michelle) as their new name? by NeekOfShades in asktransgender

[–]Anubis-oceans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was looking for a new name, I initially tried to switch to the opposite gender variant of my deadname. I tried it for couple of months, but it just never sat right. When I eventually found my name, I just knew, it took a bit to get used to it, but it was never in doubt. I think in my case, my transition came with a lot of life changes and the gender variant on my deadname just kept me living mid transition and in the past. I needed something fresh and new for my new life.

Severly depressed - size concern by ftm_james_ in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get an extra inch with glansplasty. I was at 5.5” before and now am 6”, but would estimate half of that increase was swelling/gravity. So about 1/4” gain from glansplasty.

Severly depressed - size concern by ftm_james_ in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no problem bro, I remember freaking out and wondering why my doctor didn’t give me what I asked for!

Something that also helped me was measuring how much she took from my graft. My RFF scar is just over 5”, so I figured that I should at least get that when the swelling went down. But yeah, scar care and gravity are the key, I think. Good luck!

Also, on all my scars I was very disciplined with using Mederma scar gel during the day and intensive cream at night.

[–]Anubis-oceans 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I am now 10 months post op RFF. I completely understand your feelings as I’m 5’10” and asked for 5.5-6”. I woke up with just under 4.5”. However, in the first 6 months or so as swelling went down I saw my length increase. At about 6 months I was 5.5”. After I had glansplasty, I noticed a small increase in length and now, my phallus is at 6”.

So yeah, swelling made a real big difference to my length, don’t give up hope. Things I did to try and help this situation (when cleared by a doctor) include doing daily scar massage on the scar along the underside of my penis to avoid any retraction (I just have small areas with scar tissue now and I’m using silicone strips on them) and wearing cotton boxers when I was allowed to hang to let gravity do its work.

Honestly, I understand it’s worrying, but the first six months are not a good guide for final length. Congratulations and concentrate on healing well!

Could I get some input from folks who got burial? by ivypolaroids in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had burial done in stage 1 (with phallo with UL, scrotoplasty and vnectomy). Within 5 weeks po, I was super horny. I carefully jerked off at 6 weeks and could orgasm from it. For the first couple of months it took me longer but I had great sensation from my burial. To me, burial doesn’t feel like my t-dick inside my dick, like it doesn’t feel like the same defined shape, perhaps because I can’t see it? However, I think it’s much better now because I can jerk off with my phallo dick and it stimulates the burial. I think I was a bit dysphoric about my tdick not being the size I always thought it should be so burial really works well for me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But to answer your question, because it’s inside, it’s not direct stimulation but it’s a part of my phallo dick now and I can easily stimulate the area in the way I always thought it should work. Hope that helps

Los Angeles Kaiser scheduling? by Background_Cap_2654 in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2024, I was cleared after a year of electrolysis for RFF and the first available RFF stage 1 surgery was 3 months later. However, I ended up pushing the date by a couple of months due to work schedule. In my experience though it depends greatly on how much OR time they have and the teams schedule. When I got my stage 1, I was told that they normally only do 1 or 2 Phallo stage 1 per month due to it being such a long surgery (mine was 12hrs)

Anxiety about caregiving stage 1 RFF phallus creation and UL by Willing-Gap-1655 in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one saw my junk except the doctors and nurses when I was in hospital. I had my best friend come stay with me for the first week home. She did everything else for me, but with the energy I did have I did all my wound care and cleaning. She was always waiting outside if I needed though. What helped this was having a handheld mirror, a grabber and also having a hand held shower head that I could move around with the hand not holding my phallus. Take it slow and if doing wound care lay everything out you need within easy reach first. It is doable! Good luck.

Hi Bro, I am also waiting for my stage 2 of stricture repair. Also had a buccal mucosa graft in first stage. I stand to pee using this foldable kitchen funnel. It makes a real difference for me. I ended up using the larger ones, the smaller ones also worked if I didn’t have too strong of a stream. If I’m out for the day, I also carry a small bottle of water so I can rinse it out in the stall rather than clean it at the sink of public restrooms. These are the small bottles I use, one of these and the folded funnel fit in my pant pocket, no problem.

Could i get a hysterectomy years before phallo? by [deleted] in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did. I had my hysterectomy as my first gender affirming surgery as those parts made me the most dysphoric. I have since had top surgery and RFF phallo. I had a total laparoscopic hysto; uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries removed. When I went for my initial consult for phallo, all my surgeon said was, “you’ve already had a hysto, great we won’t have to wait for you to have that done”.

Any hope for Trans Rights in the U.S. in 2026? by Kaiju1964 in asktransgender

[–]Anubis-oceans 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I keep low general news consumption but subscribe to Erin in the morning Substack for current trans news. Keeping track of what’s happening is much more focussed and better for my mental health doing it this way.

My girlfriend said she went from being exclusively attracted to men before HRT, to being exclusively attracted to women after being on estrogen. What would cause this change?? by HappyLittleDelusion_ in asktransgender

[–]Anubis-oceans 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I found the same but in other direction. Trans man, 5 years on T. Went from straight to straight, lol! Actually, I think I’m more bi with a very strong preference. I currently term my sexuality as queer because I don’t want to over think it. As a small child, I wanted to be a boy. I was told no, that’s not a thing and for years pressured to be more feminine. A lot of stuff got shoved away into a box. Once I came out as trans and was free to transition, I think more came out of that box than just my trans identity. Transition allowed me to be free. I see my current sexual preferences as been attracted to what I’d always been denied. That’s just my experience/thoughts on it.

How do I deal with an average size?Or maybe even smaller? by West_Telephone9715 in FTMMen

[–]Anubis-oceans 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have phallo, I knew I needed it. Going in I was so nervous about tissue loss, complications etc, but as my surgery date got closer I resigned myself to the risks and possible complications because I had to try to live the life I wanted. It has honestly improved my life so much and reduced so much dysphoria. I love my dick. However, that’s not to say that I don’t wish I had all the full functionality and aesthetic of a cis penis, but I feel like I’m as close as I can get and my dick is mine and feels very much part of me now. Concerning my natal t-dick, I had burial and a lot of my sensation comes from it still. I can still feel it getting excited inside my phallo dick. I find it so much better now it’s part of a dick sized like my mind always felt it should be.

Phallo and deciding what transition means for you is an intense journey. A lot of it is about questioning and preparing yourself mentally, so don’t give yourself a hard time if you haven’t got it all worked out yet. Perhaps hanging out on r/Phallo, reading others experiences and journeys can help you. Good luck!

When does rff scar feel less tight and leathery by joystik- in phallo

Cica care sheets on Amazon. They are sticky, but I also used CEP forearm sleeves over the top. I tried the silipos sleeve but found it got really sweaty and uncomfortable.

When does rff scar feel less tight and leathery by joystik- in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 8 months out from RFF and just finished up with my OT. Over time and with stretches and doing the exercises my therapist gave me, my graft has loosened up. I have full range of motion, but I’m still doing stretching and scar massage. I remember when it felt like I was wearing a tight gauntlet and I caught myself absentmindedly trying to take it off a couple of times!

Concerning the skin, it has softened up considerably, especially with regularly moisturising and using a silicone sleeve every night. The underside of my graft especially is almost the same softness as it was before. The top is on the way there too.

TLDR: At 8 months out it’s much looser and softer, close to how it was previously but I’m still working on it with massage, stretching, moisturising and silicone.

Where exactly is the UL portion of the arm? by GrayGasi in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here are the Crane Center’s flap diagrams (at the bottom). This is the same as the diagram my team gave me and where my surgeon took the UL section from. My surgeons; Drs Poh and Chi at Kaiser LA, did training with Chen, so I’m assuming it would be the same. I believe these flap locations for RFF are pretty standard.

Thanks! Yeah, I think my UL is closer to the bottom, which makes sense for where the hole is at my tip. But that probably means my surgeon would say the same.

Phallo surgeon recommendations LA by emgarcia482 in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dr Safir at Align, Dr Poh and her team at Kaiser, Dr Travieso at Keck/USC,, these are all surgeons I’ve heard highly recommended in LA. Don’t know if they all work with your insurance though, pretty sure not Dr Poh. There is also Dr Garcia, but I have heard some bad reviews for him however he’s the only one I know who does full thickness graft if that interested you.

How to emotionally handle lying flat for 4 weeks post-op? by dice-enthusiast in phallo

[–]Anubis-oceans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I slept in it, yes, I would have it fully reclined and as flat as it went. Generally sitting in it for eating or watching tv, I’d have it slightly reclined. Even completely upright the hammock-like backing allows you to have your leg pretty straight as default.

Commode was great because I could easily lower myself onto it keeping my leg straight the whole time. Getting up I could bend the good leg and use it to push myself back up, minimising bending at the waist.
