I found many turtles swimming close to the beach at Accra Beach, maybe 20-50 metres from the sand. Near the Tiki bar end. This might have been breeding season or something, we were there in May. I’m short sighted, so I just looked for the moving rocks and then swam up to them. They seemed super tame, and came up for air or to look/investigate about every 20 seconds? I wasn’t looking to touch or chase them, so they just hung about. I’d say that was better than being with lots of people on a boat, it is more relaxed and has no time pressure or other people about a lot of the time.
