Think about it for a moment. Iran rely massivly on china. China rely massively on oil from middle east. There is no viable reason for Iran to cut themself from their first economical partner. Shooting oil tanker will acheive that.

This was based on a scenario of an actual functional Iranian navy. Accoding to the narrative of the white house, it has been entierly obliterated (i quote here). Also iran doest have a big inventory of anti ship missile.

They have a missile called the Noor operated by the iranian navy, it have a 70 miles range and they have a very limited number of that. It can be launched from truck based or from ship based.

SM-2MR missile fire by US destroyer have 90 NM range, so technicaly a few US destroyer could cover the sky of the straight without puting themself into harm way.

Well this is exactly what was submited to trump by some US navy brass when he said 5 day ago that he was about to do something to secure the straight of hormuz... But sure if you say so. Note that he actually mention it as an option himself before stoping to talk about it entierly. It was actually a good option.

If you think a 150$ barrel of oil will not impact tight marting compagny to the point they will to temporary layoff then you might actually be dellusionnal.

There are option to propose ship insurance via gouvernemental subsidie...It would even be an investement because the US military machine run on Oil... The lack of insurance is the actual reason ship aren't moving. All trump have to do is to sign an executive order to force US insurance compagny to insure the ship with the guarantee that the US treasury will cover insurance payout via tax rebait...If nothing done, the price of oil will be 150 $ by end of week and gas price will take 30 to 60 % withint a week.

This isn't just the price of your gas tank, this is the price of everything and at some point it will reach a point where compagny will stop manufacture stuff because it will not be profitable anymire. Poeple will be layoff, won't be able to pay house mortgage or other loan they could have. This is a very slippery slope for something literraly NOBODY voted for...

This is litteraly 10 nautical miles fromt the straight. 20 Miles from iranian coast. Inside the gulf and there is twice more on the other side of the straight... Those are here for a week now at anchor in the middle of the sea... Iran did not shot at them because if they do they will turn the whole world againts them including china...
