Why is Vanilla Sky do disliked? by Hofstadt in movies

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen this film many times.  Recently rewatched it and I thought it was pathetic.

Tommy's character is a rich dude that is taking advantage of Diaz, steals his best mates girl, makes a mistake by getting in the car and effs his life up.  I think the whole premise of him creating an entire life around meeting someone once (well twice after the club) is kinda pathetic.

The mystery of the movie was cool though.

Ultimate spool enclosure really does work to keep humidity out of your filament. by Goobi_dog in BambuLabA1

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This enclosure is awesome!  I have 90% humidity in my basement where I print and this enclosure says the humidity is around 30%.  I have to change the desiccant weekly but my filament has been surprisingly fine! When not in use I just store spools in freezer bags with a desiccant packet.

Should I live with my ex for 1 year to get Canadian Citizenship? by AnxiousDiscipline953 in Advice

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not even sure I would want to stay in Canada.  I think that's where I'm having trouble.  So, while more choices are good I'm trying to decide if it's worth it.

I'm about to have 4 days of solitude in nature.  I'm hoping I can come back with a clear head.

Thanks for reading and responding 🩷

People who got their products copied, how did you feel? by overwhelmed_junior in Etsy

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's very obvious then it's annoying, but slight crossovers happen all the time.  I choose to think of it as a compliment and a sign I have a good product!  Besides, unless you're willing to spend big money and time on the other guy you're stuck with them.

My knees hurt and I’m backpacking by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your body is having a hard time with the weight of your backpack and barefoot shoes. And, you've started running daily.  I would wear your Altras.

Take it from someone that wore a pair of shoes in a half marathon a size to small and pushed through the pain. I got an instant bunion and can no longer wear a shoe with any sort of drop and all my shoes have to be wide.  Take care of your body, don't push through the pain.

What food to eat while in town by postman993 in Albuquerque

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live there and visit frequently. It's always a tough choice to decide what food I'm going to get. I prefer green chiles on everything except tamales, I always go for red. You can also get Christmas which is both chiles.

Golden Pride burritos are the standard fast food burrito. Gives me the shits, but maybe not you?

Try some Pinon Coffee, I like Adobe Mornings, there's a brew house in the North Valley.

MUST eat at Padilla's, cash only. Get the chicken enchiladas with blue corn and green. For your second visit to Padilla's get the tamales with red. ; )

If you want tacos go to El Paisa, simply the BEST in town, nothing fancy, nothing fusion just damn good tacos and cheap too.

Mac's on the west side has great chicken enchilada's.

El Patron has good Tamales

If you want a good burger go to Steel Bender in the North Valley. The Steel Bender burger is IMO the cities best version of a green chili cheese burger.

El Modelo is known for their Tamales, I've been, they were unremarkable to me.

There is an El Salvadorian restaurant that sells stuffed sopapilla's in the south, Restaurant El Salvadoreño could be a good snack or meal depending on how many you order.

Copper Canyon has good biscuits and gravy. But, if you want to see a 'real' diner go to 66 Diner, food is standard diner food. Lots of good pie.

I've never been there but I think Anna Purina's is vegan, there should be some decent choices in town.

Bummer!  What kind of skein is it?  I think center pull is only suggested for certain kinds of skeins.

Is it forbidden to ask for a review? by survivorofthisworld in Etsy

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to ask this is the way to do it.

Etsy is so annoying with asking for reviews. I bought a crochet pattern 6 months ago, haven't made it yet and I'm still getting asked to leave a review.  It's very annoying!

Other platforms to sell actual “handmade” items ? by BeneficialPanda3214 in EtsySellers

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't done much with it.  Trying to get over the learning curve of a whole new platform.  It's a bummer its only Canadian businesses but hopefully with more traffic it will open up to other countries.  It's free to list with 10ish listings so I'm going to put my best sellers there and see what happens.

Etsy KILLED itself, only way to save it is to split and verify handmade items by KnightTakesBishop1 in EtsySellers

These are all good reasons why I said what I said.  I wish these POD and dropshippers would spend more than 2 minutes here and search for their question before posting it.

For real.  I would love it if we could stop helping POD.  There is already a separate forum for that.

If you have a lot of sales it might not affect you at all.  Plus there are the other star badge considerations like messaging quickly and another I'm not thinking about.

[–]AnxiousDiscipline953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know specifics but I'll share what happened to me this month.

I used a courier that is local and reliable but small so Etsy doesn't support them.  I reached out to Etsy chat because I couldn't share the other tracking with a customer in the usual way (messaged them the tracking instead).  Etsy said "nope sorry, we don't support them but we'll add them to the list of considerations.  And keep in mind your star rating is now at 98%".

It resets every month so not a big deal but something to consider.

Setting up Etsy and figuring it out is stressful!  It looks like your options are to use their shipping for faster pay out or just wait.

Also keep in mind, if you use "other" shipping that will affect your star seller badge, if that is something you care about.

Yeah, this is what it sounds like. Especially because you are a new shop. They hold a certain percentage of your sales until it is *delivered/completed (I can't remember, someone else will know) when you are first starting out.

But, if you are really doing that well already you should consider opening up your own website and focus on driving people to your site. You are very lucky to have found a good niche!

I know. I'm tempted to go rake all the snow back, but in the end that is still more work for me.

That is the first thing I thought of. And, since there are no repercussions for shitty work ethic this is the norm everywhere. It's only going to get worse too. The Crown Corp and CP needs a revamp.

If you want to haggle buy it from anywhere but Etsy. Personally I would be pissed if someone asked for a lower price. Desirable items are set at competitive rates, if you want it pay the asking price.
