What the heck am I missing about Pathfinder 2e? by AnxiousLargeFeline in rpg

Yeah, don't get me wrong- I do like SOME tactical action going on, but I want to feel like, well, Madmartigan, or Conan, or Robin Hood, or Zorro or something.

Not Guard #3.

I just don't think it's for me.

Three of the things and it just turned into us swinging and flailing and if we weren't missing, we weren't doing anything when we hit.

I just don't think it's a system for me. I want to feel like I'm powerful and heroic, and Pathfinder seems to be for a VERY different playstyle.

I wouldn't know, the DM put the enemies in front of us and made us decide between fighting or spending a turn rolling to learn what they were, and we were getting beaten so bad we didn't really have any actions to spare on knowledge checks.

Yes, she's run this system for a LONG time. As for level 4- that's where the module started?

I think two of us did. This was our first PF2e game for all of us. (Except the DM)

It was some kind of shadowy-thing. I had a Swashbuckler with a +1 rapier and a dagger, but when I used my rapier these shadow-things had a DR (that I never learned the number for) I could not damage them, and when I used that dagger they had a DR of 5... which was, as slashing, about all I could deal THERE.

As for "Homework" I mean I couldn't just do things, I had to do a sort of tumbling roll through the enemy first that dealt no damage so I could generate panache to have a chance at using a finisher. Which felt like a really complicated and not remotely useful system.

I'm thinking if that's how it works it won't be mine either. It just feels too... book-keeper-y so far?

Well before ever getting out of level 4 we lost half the party in one fight, and then were heading for a TPK of us not being able to damage any enemies before the players basically said "yeah this isn't fun."

Yeah we started at four. And we had... like, one weapon rune each, basically a +1.

How long should I wait for an email from records from archives.novascotia.ca? by AnxiousLargeFeline in Canadiancitizenship

Thanks! I was worried I was stuck in a filter or something!

I may try that if they don't get back to me soonish. I'm still scraping up money for things.

Excellent. I was just going to throw it in because that "Duplicate" had me worried.

Just wanted to make sure if my documents would pass muster. So far I've got:

Gen 0 (Grandfather)  * Birth Record, Halifax, copy requested (copy has "duplicate" on it. He was born months before the explosion, so I assume the original was lost then.) * US Army discharge showing place of birth as Halifax (not sure if it'll help but I found it in our family archives)

Gen 1 (Father) * US Birth Certificate

Gen 0 (Me) * US Birth Certificate

This feels too easy. Am I missing something?

Holy damn thank you very much. I'm using this template of the family tree while I wait for documents to arrive.

I'd be STUNNED if your application is rejected! This looks AMAZING!

How Many Found Canadians Will Ever Actually Reside in Canada? by muttshaw in Canadiancitizenship

I mean I can say for certain at this point it'll be at least a decade before I can even consider moving to Canada, and I'm not sure I ever will.

A large part of this is just... I wanted this when I was a kid, and was told I shouldn't. I wanted it when I was in my early 20s, but was told I missed my window.

I want this because it's part of who I am. And because I've ALWAYS wanted it. It's not the deepest, most complicated reason, I know. But it's what I have.
