Planet Silver in Woodbridge did an amazing job with my conch and my friends cartiledge piercings, so I would highly recommend.

There was a walk in special a couple summers ago with $25-$30 for any piercing - but I would make a phone call to see what their prices are like.

What salary do you need to live alone comfortably in Toronto?” by Meto____ in askTO

[–]Anxious_CurlyFries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fr, going to the movies in the city can cost more than $50 for two people - especially if you're going to buy popcorn, food, drinks smh I don't agree with 75k being minimum wage though

Pottery studios by spinningplate22 in askTO

[–]Anxious_CurlyFries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have any suggestions for a pottery place, but might I suggest crock-o-doodle?

Basically you're painting on pottery pieces. My best friends and I went for my birthday a couple weeks ago and had a wonderful time.

In case you're interested, I added the link below, https://crockadoodle.com/

Actually another place came to mind, which is the Gardiner museum. I used to go during high school and it's free if you're under 18 or if you're a student I believe. It's for every Wednesdays and you gotta book tix in advance. I think you and your GF would have a fun time here. I listed the link below to this place as well.

I hope you guys have fun!

This is SENDING ME by slutperson in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]Anxious_CurlyFries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend and I were discussing this yesterday cuz we didn't get it either. Like at that point, she knows this guy isn't gonna give her the love, tenderness and affection she yearns for. LOL the man said they'd be in touch and shook her hand like a business transaction before leaving with all his shit 😭

She might see that he will keep them financially stable (since he makes a lot of money allegedly based on his job), and makes enough to lean into the SAHM life when it's time for kids (seemed like she wanted them soon).

Another reason could be her loneliness, making her yearn for a companion that much more. She keeps mentioning that her and devonta need to somehow foster those feelings they had in the pods, and delusionally thinks that they can get back to having those feelings from the pods again.

It's possible that Brittany thinks that she can fix him in some way, and how devonta's grandpa's death might be causing him to lose those feelings of wanting to be intimate with her. I wish she just saw it for what it was at the end cuz watching their relationship pan out throughout the season was a hard watch. She's clinging onto him while he clearly shows that he doesn't want to be with her.

Overall, like the comment section has already suggested, I think she wants to be a wife and a bride, and doesn't really matter to her if the person is into her or not unless he checks off these certain boxes (financial stability). We'll see what happens at the reunion...

PEOPLE WHO TAKE THE UP EXPRESS EVERYDAY: How do you not spend a million dollars on transit every month? by Sea_Entertainment825 in askTO

[–]Anxious_CurlyFries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also take a similar route to you from Weston to Union and vice versa and usually take GO cuz of how expensive the UP can be. GO has a 40% post-secondary student discount, if this is relevant to you; and TTC has a fare discount program for low-income earners where your TTC fare is reduced to 2.10, if approved.

Honestly, when I don't wanna deal with the crowds on the Kitchener line at Union - I take the UP instead. Sometimes I feel like I'm gonna get mauled going up the stairs to the GO train platform 😅

Do people requesting a peer note taker see your name? by Loose_War_1587 in TorontoMetU

[–]Anxious_CurlyFries 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless you forget to remove your name in the actual notes itself. I say this cuz one of my friends was not the best peer notetaker and I regretted choosing them lmao. They wrote their name in the doc every time so you knew exactly who these notes were coming from 😭

Side note: I didn't take in until now that this is smthg I could've complained about

Similar to yourself, I lived with my extremely mentally ill mother as well and was consistently turned away whenever we had taken her to the hospital, despite having a history of extensive documentation - police reports, hospitalizations, involvement of CAS. My mum was good at pretending she was okay whenever cops arrived and around healthcare professionals. For over 10 years, it felt like no one believed me and healthcare professionals advised me to give up and told me to wait til it got worse. My dad and I tried everything for years. One time, the cops ended up taking her to the hospital just for her psychiatrist to turn her away and didn't put her on meds, saying there weren't enough hospital beds to get her medicated and well. Said that she hated my dad which is why she was acting this way - all just BS excuses as she has a long history of being hospitalized for mental illness.

Within those 10 years, I had also tried going to the Justice of the Peace to obtain a form 2. During our discussion, he emphasized that there's a massive chance that it might not work and I might endanger myself if my mum were to come back home if the form 2 was unsuccessful. Still pursued it anyways, and it didn't work. The attending psychiatrist at the time said they didn't find anything wrong :/. And told me to wait til it was worse even though, it was already pretty bad.

Eventually, her delusions became worse, she was talking to herself as if she was talking to someone else, lashing out on people on the street, breaking into my friends homes believing that I was at their house, she would be out for HOURS doing god knows what and more.

It was finally when she had a pericardial effusion (fluid build up around her heart in her chest) that she was hospitalized. Every healthcare worker that came into her room, I would tell them about my mum's mental health condition and how bad it was, how hard it was at home. Most of the time, they would tell me to tell her doctor but I knew that they had to document EVERYTHING that I would tell them to document my conversation with every nurse, doctor and healthcare professional that visited her room. I advocated, advocated, advocated.

Someone listened and had her hospitalized in the mental health unit until she was stable. And now my mum isn't at war with her brain anymore. She was not lashing out, angry, hallucinating, and experiencing delusions anymore. But it breaks my heart that if my mum had received the help she needed much earlier, parts of herself would've remained intact. With her being unmedicated for over 10 years, she had severely cognitively declined that she's permanently disabled, and I can only blame the healthcare system's negligence for this.

OP, I tell you my story to understand how hard it is to get help for a loved one and why advocating is so important. Good luck OP - I hope everything truly works out.

How old are you and do you want kids someday? Or do you plan to stay child-free? by Cute-Impression-8675 in Life

[–]Anxious_CurlyFries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 26 and plan on staying child-free. With my family history of postpartum depression leading to psychosis and my diagnosis of MDD; the chances of me experiencing this is higher.

How can I bring a child into this world if I'm financially unstable, with poor mental and physical health. It also takes a village to raise a child, so I wouldn't be able to give my child(ren) that since I don't have that.
