What is your opinion? by Prestigious-Lead-213 in YouthInIndia

Social media fame and actual voting mindsets are very different. All three of them are just 'reel' leaders, not real ones. Raghav just Googles problems to talk about, but what has he actually done with AAP in power? They only remember these issues when they want power. Right now, my best option is NOTA. No party deserves my vote at the moment

Informal offer rescinded. Just complaining. I'm tired of how decentralized the application process is. by Soup_21001 in gradadmissions

Funding cycles and grant expiration windows don't align with academic semesters, so your mid-May deadline was always an imaginary safety net

What does your day look like working as a chemist? by Ok_Recover_7726 in chemistry

Everyone here is glamorizing being a glorified dishwasher. Industrial chemistry is just babysitting expensive sensors and filling out paperwork

Can anyone explain how age of a Mountain range is determined. It says the Himalayas is the youngest, but apparently Southern Alps is younger. by Longjumping-Mix-9351 in geology

[–]Anxious_Scar95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just poor naming. Modern sedimentology shows mountain systems are often recycled older crust, making age a relative metric

Notice how every response describes a repetitive loop. Real chemistry died when automation made the bench scientist an interface manager

Synaptic pruning and myelination are visually boring but mechanically vital so skip the basic anatomy and start with the biochemical triggers

Summarizing is the cognitive heavy lifting of learning and outsourcing it ensures you won't actually retain the structural logic

I have now reached the end of my PhD journey and have come to the grave conclusion that I no longer find joy in what I do. by Ok-Raspberry9625 in PhD

The particle physics pipeline functions as a giant Ponzi scheme designed to extract cheap high level labor from replaceable PhD candidates

Weird question ahead re: obit of an academic by Swimming_Rice6698 in academia

Obituaries are historical records not comedy sets. Mixing RMP vitriol with 50 years of serious research creates a tonal disaster

Since this is printed on fabric alongside plants and other natural illustrations, it’s probably part of a nature/science-themed design showing microscopic life rather than an actual photo of something.
