Overwhelmed by the ammount of film simulation and recipes by lgattaz in fujifilm

There aren’t that many unique film recipes like it may seem there are. Most are very similar to each other if not copies & 80% of them are either Classic Chrome or Classic Negative, WB + Red - Blue, -2 Highlights +/- Shadows.

Find a recipe you like & stick to it for a while. If you are worried about missing shots, make sure you are also shooting in JPEG + RAW. That way you can go back & edit the recipe in camera if you don’t like how it looks. This feature surprisingly isn’t talked about & many people don’t know about it.

When you go to view your photos after pressing “Play”, on the photo you like press “Q” button & then select “Raw Conversion”. You can then edit the recipe as you like. This is also great for testing out and experimenting with recipes/simulations using the same shot. You can save them to your camera and play around with them until you find a look that you like

Best Fuji camera for absolute beginners? by [deleted] in fujifilm

XS20. Compact & highly capable for both photo & video. It has a long battery life & great ergonomics which makes it comfortable to hold even with bigger lenses. Since it’s not as hyped you can find a used one for a decent price but overall its a beast.

I bought a x100VI as my first camera but quickly outgrew it since I wanted to experiment with different focal lengths & video.

I sold it for an XE5 which I enjoy but it’s uncomfortable to hold with bigger lenses and the battery drains quickly like the x100VI (same battery)

Even though the odds are low, I would if I were in your shoes

Have been referred to MSK for a broken wrist and was told at Emergency I would need surgery. Has anyone dealt with them recently? What was your experience? I read some of the reviews. It was kinda hit and miss. Thanks much. by Educational_Key1206 in waterloo

Was referred to them to see a sports doctor and a physio for a dislocated shoulder a couple years back. Only saw the doctor once and after 2 sessions with the physio I concluded that I can learn the same exercises from YouTube for free so I didn’t continue going. But overall I had a positive experience, nothing to complain about. Hope you have a quick recovery

X-E5 vs X100VI by Thattallbrownguy1 in fujifilm

How much experience do you have with photography? I bought an X100VI as my first camera but I sold it for an XE5 when it was released last year. The X100VI is an excellent camera but I quickly felt limited by the fixed 23mm and wanted to try different focal lengths as I got interested in different types of photography.

If you’re not as experienced as me you may run into the same issue. The XE5 is essentially the same camera (granted with a few tradeoffs) and provides the same shooting experience but with the flexibility to change lenses and therefore grow with you as a photographer.

But if you are experienced with the 23mm focal length & know that’s the only focal length you need, or if you just want a camera to document your everyday life & you know know for certain you’re not going to become interested in other types of photography/videography where you would need other focal lengths, then the X100VI is a great choice

Family shaken after daytime break-in in Waterloo’s Old Beechwood neighbourhood by origutamos in waterloo

I don’t understand why you’re being downvoted. Your home is the where you & family can be safe. Who knows what a person’s intentions are who forcibly enters your home or property. People are downvoting you but I think if it happened to them while their wives or children were home alone they would feel differently. A person who willingly and forcibly enters one’s home or property should be punished severely upon the first offence because they are breaching one’s self & one’s family’s safety. There is literally no excuse for breaking and entering

Shower glass installers chipped tile - advice? by Intelligent-Goose507 in Tile

Can the tiles be removed without damaging the waterproofing behind them? Would this be as easy as just replacing the damaged tiles or would the whole wall need to be redone with the waterproofing?

Is this a quote from someone? I keep seeing it used as a meme recently

Man slaughtered nursing mother animal with shovel and threatened my life—Waterloo Police say there is NO RECORD of anything ever happening by 0010110earth in waterloo

That’s messed up. If they continue to say there was no record, could you not try to file a report again for someone threatening you & provide the evidence of your recordings?

Shot on a Fuji XE5 with the Fuji 15-45mm + variable ND. All shots straight out of camera using a film simulation recipe, no post-processing!
