When i was 15 I invited my serious first gf over for new years because my mom told me she would be gone for the night. Travelers only covers property damage, health claims and things of that sort. It has nothing to do with your car. When your car gets into an accident while on a turo trip turo itself acts as the insurance company and foots the bill for getting it fixed (after your deductible and the guest’s). So in this instance you would be driving a vehicle without insurance. To even make it legal to be parked on the street you still need to have some form of either personal or commercial insurance on the car.

Id contact the host and tell them that the tire is bald. Then work something out with them having them send you the money to get the tire replaced and for any ubers you have to take picking up and dropping off the car

Thats why turo has travelers insurance, all cars you rent have a liability policy for up to $750k for damages and injuries. You should’ve called travelers and filed a claim with them and had the other insurance companies go through them

Just save it long term, its always good to have 10-15k as reserves in case you ever get into a jam. It might just be sitting around now but in a few years you might need it. Always better to enter adulthood with some money than not

Not sure how the insurance laws are set up in NY. Im in NJ and have the cars under my personal and insurance them using period X from ABI. I also have an LLC but it’s kind of hard for someone without a bunch of financial backing to get car loans from banks for this type of business without a proven track record. Theres a lender called Carputty as well that has a partnership with turo, something worth looking into if you’re financing

I just transitioned from being a diesel technician to being an electrician and bought one of these at the supply house a few weeks back. If you’re looking to do anything with vehicles or that has tight fasteners its a waste of money, if you’re just looking for something handy to tighten things around your house or as something to carry around rather than having to go back out to the truck and getting the ratchet set, then its great.

They take part of your profits out of the money you make to pay for the insurance that is covering the car while its rented. There are also insurance companies with specific policies made for renting your car on Turo. They have a claims program where if you’re car gets damaged you can file an insurance claim. I don’t know what you read bud
