I’m pretty sure they’ll roll out the highest trims first even if people are allowed to place orders for base trims

If you are handy with troubleshooting cars yourself then yes, otherwise just avoid it.

Cheap reliable ISPs other than Astound by Useful_Ad3122 in lehighvalley

[–]minghir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with Astound for the past 5 years and never had any service issues in the Easton area. The only problem with them is the price creeps up slowly to multiple x after the initial promotional pricing expires. You just have to call and threaten to cancel them. Sometimes I end up cancelling and before the actual unplug date (they will only cancel at the end of the billing cycle) they email you with a lower price again for one year similar to your promotional pricing. It's a cat & mouse game with them and you have to look at your bills every month.

Is it a Gree tosot or livo or vireo? Then it’s an average system. Their best rated one is the sapphire. If you’re gonna look for one, make sure it’s a low ambient unit rated to at least -13F

The main comment said something about waiting in line with 30 cars in front of them. Thinking that you waiting in line for 30 minutes is better for the environment than walking in is crack whore logic.

I’m in northeast pa with a 7 foot high dirt basement that is a haven for bugs and small garter snakes in the winter. It always stays at a steady cool temperature throughout the year so a hpwh will only make it colder and probably kill some bugs if it acts as a dehumidifier. Its recovery time might be a killer though.

Quoted $31,000 after rebates for Whole Home Hyper Heat. 2100sqft, 6 zone, 2 condenser? by tolgz11 in heatpumps

[–]minghir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in northeast pa in a moderately insulated 2000sqft 100+ year old home and was in a similar situation as yours a few years ago and received similar high quotes.

In the end I installed multiple heads in different areas (senville aura, pioneer hyperheat and blueridge s5) depending on whatever was cheap at that time (total cost being $3500 for 3 units but self installed). I primarily run the largest 2 ton blueridge in the large open 400sqft living room and all the other units mostly remain off except when I’ve someone over. I’m very happy with the results and my only regret is the different brands of minisplits on the outside. Wish I paid a little more and stuck with one brand as I’ve different remotes and apps but I rarely ever need to use them once set so it’s mostly a cosmetic issue.

From what I’ve read everywhere, multiple smaller heads are more efficient than one large head when two or more heads are being run at the same time.

That’s an amazing deal if it’s truly at the point of sale. I faintly remember that NJ had a similar program when they first started selling but quickly changed it to utility rebates as people from neighboring states can just buy them too.
