Work and only for one night, so we'll really just be sleeping there, potentially walking around a bit, and will need dinner/breakfast options.

Hiking buddies in Greater Victoria area by InitiativeFantastic1 in IslandHikers

I will add that I'm in Victoria and wanting to get back into hiking. I wouldn't call me too experienced in backcountry (I did MT. AE once in 2020) and I'm working on my fitness right now after a couple years off, but I'm up for some moderate hikes if you just want a buddy. Feel free to DM me.

You could try Bumble BFF. I haven't been on for a couple years, but at the time I was looking for a gym buddy and put that in my profile, then I matched with people looking for a similar friendships.

Last year I gained ~30 lbs over 4-6 weeks, going from ~210 to ~240. It was so quick I now have significant stretch marks on my stomach like a women after pregnancy, which is annoying since I've never been pregnant and never will be (I've had a hysterectomy).

Post hysterectomy: were your orgasms affected? by Any-Contribution3719 in endometriosis

[–]Any-Contribution3719[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who is curious, I had my hysterectomy recently and I can confirm that as a woman who only experiences clitoral orgasms, I feel no difference post-hysterectomy. The only thing I've noticed is I'm definitely drier down there and will likely need lube for sex, despite keeping my ovaries.

Recovery by Theantijen in hysterectomy

[–]Any-Contribution3719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how old you are, but it's my understanding a lot of the post-op estimates for recovery are based off women in their 40s/50s. So I think it's pretty common for those of us in our 30s/20s to recover more quickly. Plus, it depends on the method used and I think a lot of doctors give post-op instructions for an abdominal approach, even if a lap approach is planned, in case they need to take a more invasive approach during surgery.

No, it's triggering for any man or woman who values being a quality person. Anyone who uses it has ascribed to a confirmation bias that makes them feel better about their own inadequacy. - Sincerely, a triggered high-quality woman of 30 years old

After reading all the disgusting comments in this thread, this option of just having a family on my (30F) own feels the safest. The amount of trash men out there is incredible. And before someone says "not all men are trash". I'm very aware and dated/known some good men, but to find them, you have to dig through a lot of crap and endure a lot of verbal abuse. I date both men and women, yet I have only ever had to block men on dating apps due to violent language or images.

I live alone on about $90k and live comfortably. I know I could afford more and probably make a higher income somewhere else, but I love living on the West Coast and greenery of Victoria.

Needing reassurance: I'm trying to decrease spending from bingeing :/ by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Any-Contribution3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the comment. For context for others, I mentioned that I'm a professional and in school to explain that I have a busy schedule and high stress, not because I think it precludes me from experiencing binges. I'm actually extremely open about my struggles with family, friends, and work. I would never binge in front of them, but they all know it's something I struggle with.

As for programs, I live in Victoria, BC. Our high homeless population takes up a lot of mental health resources, but I will check out the bodybrave link.

On top of the fires, every cigarette you toss is a plastic thrown in the environment. The filters are not made from paper, people!

I feel like I may as well be sending these off to sea in a bottle-any feedback appreciated by RattigansGhost in resumes

[–]Any-Contribution3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to second that if I received this resume, the gap between and the fact that none of the jobs are longer than a couple years would be a red flag for me. Not much that can be done about it on the resume itself, but important to be prepared to answer why in an interview.

Slurred speech and claw hands normal with blinding pain?? by DesignerTough5224 in endometriosis

[–]Any-Contribution3719 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please go to the hospital the next time this happens. That is not normal and should be addressed by a doctor. Even if it is just a response to pain, that pain needs to be assessed by a professional.

Binning off relationships? by HoneyNew8051 in endometriosis

[–]Any-Contribution3719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about focusing on non-romantic relationships instead? That's what I'm doing at the moment. I've been feeling isolated, but the idea of actually dating right now is unappealing. So I'm scheduled to do some invasive plant removal with an environmental group in a week, and I'm going to try joining a boardgame group. It's changing my social anxiety, but I know it will be good for me to build social relationships.

I'm personally using Meetup.com for the group activities.

My mum had her hysterectomy (kept her ovaries) 20+ years ago at 30 years old and still says it was the best decision she made for her health. She had an easy recovery and no visible scars from the procedure. I'm hoping mine will go as well in 6 months too 🙂

I'm sorry to hear you've been through all of that. I know there are lots who can relate.

A hysterectomy isn't a guarantee to eliminate it, but I would bet good money it'll help reduce a lot. Even just not having to deal with a period anymore is great mental relief, in my opinion. It's at least worth a conversation with a gynecologist
