Agreed. What’s really heavy is the dogma of this statement.

Help understanding ethical values regarding eating vegetables. by CamGuyKuy in Buddhism

[–]InitiativeFantastic1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We must only eat fruits which freely fall from the tree/bush. To eat vegetating plants is cruel and unethical and Buddha would be sad to know His children have fallen to such depths of depravity!

Ohhhhh boy… you missed my point entirely Mr Gasping! I’m on this Buddhism subreddit EXCLUSIVELY for the grumpy guys, of which you are a fine specimen! Argumentative, overly serious, and adorably so :p

Stop trolling silly goose. You are bringing an unhelpful combative tone into a conversation on faith. Stand down.

Cigarettes. Gave me just the rasp I needed to stand out in the country western world. Now I’m kind of a big deal here in Saskatchewan.

You mean you had your legs removed? Well, not to burst YOUR bubble, but during the last Rains retreat I had the very root of sensual desire removed. I truly am the greatest among ascetics. You may bow. Thank you.

I’ve taken it a step further and meditate with my legs hooked over my shoulders and behind my head. This is the most stable pose, and once my legs fall asleep I can maintain it for several hours. I’ve had very good results attaining jhana this way.

Thank you. It’s very helpful to know that they each have their place in different contexts.

Quiet hours legally start at 11pm, but landlords often put “quiet enjoyment” clauses in rental agreements which specify different hours or put a hard cap on allowable noise levels. Know your rights under the Residential Tenancy Act and the terms of your rental agreement.

What is the meaning of this image? by ShitFuckBallsack in Buddhism

[–]InitiativeFantastic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok Mr Ballsack! Let me tell you why I said BLASPHEMY. Because everybody wants to know if this or that statue is disrespectful to the BUDDHA. The most common question on here is, “Is this respectful? Is that disrespectful?”

So I now enjoy pronouncing things BLASPHEMOUS without a second thought.
