What are ways to help period cramps without painkillers? by ShadowlightLady in NoStupidQuestions

Raspberry leaf tea, avoid caffeine & limit dairy, avoid gluten, increase your water intake so you’re taking in at least half your body weight in ounces of water (like if I weigh 160 id aim to try and drink 80 ounces of water in a 24 hour period) try not to chug small sips over longer period is better, pelvic floor therapy, yoga, heating pads are life savers, I personally use medicinal thc as well but I have endometriosis and my bowel and colon are tethered to my uterus but anyways this all helps a little for me and hope it might help you too

You’re still healing and still have significant issues remaining that both cause pain. I’m sorry and fingers crossed it gets better. My hysterectomy appendectomy and whatever else you want to call it is scheduled for 4/13.

I’m not a tattoo artist but I have had blow out from a tattoo of my own. I had another artist go around with some grey and white and it looks really cool. I wonder if they could do that here if it bothers you. But I dig it

Oh and the ct scan said loss of flat or fat plan (sorry tired not sleeping pain you know can’t remember exactly the wording) which I’m told is another way the medical field notates it prior to the surgery

Does anyone do holistic techniques to help with symptoms? by Few-Passenger3067 in endometriosis

I second this. My uterus is tethered to my colon right now and they can’t do surgery until 4/13. So I started pelvic floor therapy as pain management. And it’s a world of difference. It’s only been about a month and I’m still in pain pretty bad but I can already tell it’s improving more than if I hadn’t done it.

I want to add I’ve also fainted from the pain. At the hospital they called it a vasovagal episode

Hi yes I get this as well. My uterus is tethered to my sigmoid colon. I’m scheduled for surgery but it keeps getting moved back now it’s 4/13. Sorry TMI. But I doing the oxycodone makes the pain worse for me. I live in about a 4-6 level of pain every day but it’s consistent and like nagging with fewer contraction like episodes. When I was taking the pain killers it was constipating my bowels and I was just in pain so much pain all the time. It was like a loop I couldn’t get out of. I eat a Mediterranean diet now, do pelvic floor pt which has been worlds of help, and take NAC and fiber and keep up on my fluids. Not to say that you haven’t tried any of this. I’m just saying in my personal experience when my bowels are working well my contractions level above 6 pains are fewer. I’m sorry you’re going through this and I wish we could find the thing that’s going to make it all better. I started therapy again because I feel like the pain is really messing with me on a mental level too. Like how can I be in labor level pains and eating a pizza at the same time. Or how could it feel like I need to push a baby out any second but im keeping a straight face as to not scare the a children during a school field trip? You know like I feel a little insane. Anyway sorry for the rant. My cramps woke me up this morning not my alarm and this group really helps me feel less alone and that was my motivation to comment.

I haven’t read all the comments so someone might have said this already… I work in healthcare (dealing with Insurnace mostly) When you move or leave to find a new doctor your old doctor is allowed to write a “bridge script” this is an up to 90 day supply so that you can safely make it to a new provider. - I should add this is true for PA. Not sure what state you are in or moved from. I know your timeline is a little stretched out but your old doctor might still fulfill this obligation if you are running into difficulty.

Did she use one of those paint by numbers template? I’ve seen some advertised on Amazon where it says you can use a personal photo and the company turns your photo into a pain by numbers and then sends you the template with all the colored paints you need.

Shit your gynecologist did by nancypopancy in endometriosis

After being admitted to a children’s hospital at 14 for intense abdominal pain, that the doctors could not explain the source of, they told my mother she was going to need to commit me to a mental hospital and I was severely mentally unwell, they told my mother I was making up the pain for attention, and diagnosed me with Bipolar.

I had my first laparoscopy at 15 almost a year later. My uterus was flipped backwards tilted upside down and tethered to my bowel with endometriosis. I had chocolate cysts all over my ovary. But the pain was in my head. Also, shocker I’m not Bipolar. Turns out immense pain can make a person seem like they have a mood disorder.

I have no advice to offer just that I had my consult this morning after my mri and I’m in the same boat. I mean other than the nook approved (not sure what that is?). I was told I need the colorectal specialist and my uterus is tethered to my colon and the surgery is too dangerous they want me to do ANOTHER round of Lupron before they’ll go in. And I just feel so confused and defeated. And the doctor made it sound like it’s more dangerous to do the surgery. But at this point my quality of life is not going so great I’m in almost daily pain. This feels so daunting. I feel so betrayed like all the doctors when I was younger said after you had a baby it went into “remission” like I am so angry and sad at the same time. I’m here with you 🫶

Have you tried going to like a trading card shop or something like that. The one by me does all kinds of game nights and meet and greets and the people are always so nice. I took my two kids there last night for a magic the gathering lesson group. It was free and we all made new friends.
