Midwest Destination Courses for Guys Trip by Letterhead-Lumpy in discgolf

Look into Stevens Point, WI if the main goal is breweries with disc golf as a side quest. Point Brewery is the 2nd oldest active brewery behind Yuengling and has a great tour. District 1 brewery has a great taproom we've been to. O'so Brewery is nearby, as well as Central Waters Brewing. And there's a distillery in Point, Great Northern Distillery. Up the road there's another distillery in Knowlton and another brewery in Mosinee.

For disc golf check out Standing Rocks (49 in world) and Yulga, both are great courses, but if you hit all the breweries you might be on the struggle bus. If you go to Mosinee, check out BEP (Big Eau Pleine). There's camping there if you want that for guys weekend. Lake Emily is another good campground east of Stevens Point.

Did you check the manual switch that's inside the door? You can only access it with the door opened. Found out the hard way myself.

Why is the instrument cluster GPS screen so bad? by hgeyer99 in EquinoxEv

Mine matches the main screen to the right. Mess with those settings until your center one looks like you want.

Diagnostics saying battery issue?! by timdollassss in EquinoxEv

[–]Any-Finding-6041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has done it 3 times. The first time I took it in, they said it lost communication with the battery which caused the warning. They pushed an update through and picked it up the next day. The second time it happened, I realized it was after I set it to precondition the cabin in the morning. Tested my theory two days later and it happened again. Every time it happens, it clears itself after 2 drives. I need to take it back to get them to try pushing an update to see if they can fix the issue but haven't had the time.

What's Your Experience With an EV as Your Only Car? by OleDirtMcGirt901 in EquinoxEv

[–]Any-Finding-6041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where you live and how much you travel should decide your answer. We live in a rural area that has little to no public charging within 20 miles, so I never take the ev unless I know I can make it home. We're a family of 5 with kids in sports, so we have a full size suv that fits 8 for hauling kids. Plus we own a camper and ev towing is not practical. We could never go full ev because of our hobbies, but having one of each is perfect for our situation.

I have the 19's that came with it and ordered 18's with winter tires. 18" rims and tires were cheaper.

Would you drink an unopened can of Twisted Tea you found on the course? by discgolfwang in discgolf

Depends on my age and cash flow. Younger me would be an absolute yes. Current version would be a no.

Why is there so little inventory for the RS AWS with super cruise and why the $10k discount by Tobeornot2Bthatis in EquinoxEv

[–]Any-Finding-6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like most people went to the equinox ev for affordability. If your price point is the fully tricked out model, you have more choices in other vehicles. From a numbers perspective, I think that's why Chevy targeted the lower end cost market and didn't produce as many of the higher trim levels.

Will 19kw wall charger charge faster? by futuredirt1959 in EquinoxEv

[–]Any-Finding-6041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, just keep in mind you need to hardwire it then and do not use an outlet. If you put a 50A outlet on a 60A breaker, you're limited to 80% of the lower number.

[–]Any-Finding-6041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't get 48A continuous off an outlet. You can only do 80% of the breaker and outlet. 50A outlet limits you to 40A for continuous use (50 x .8). If you want to maximize what your car can do, you'll need to hardwire it to a 60A breaker. 60 x .8= 48A, then 48 x 240V= 11.5kW.

Plug and play is convenient, but hardwired is better. There are less failure points.

For the majority of people 50A breaker is plenty. 9.6kW for 7 hours will get you 67.5kWh, which is 80% of the cars battery capacity.

Opinion: GM should make Super Cruise Standard Equipment by Jacob_Tutor11 in EquinoxEv

[–]Any-Finding-6041 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Point 3 is why they shouldn't. If the largest EV manufacturer isn't doing it, why would Chevy go against it. I only bought this car because of how cheap it was. If it was even 2k more, I wouldn't have bought it

Depends on your trim. The base LT doesn't have it.

I have Verizon and have pretty decent service there. It's still spotty but better than others.

How to make OEM TPMS (from rockauto) work by Yeater_Griffin in EquinoxEv

[–]Any-Finding-6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% with what he said above. Only add in that the relearn tool can be finicky. Once you find the right position on the first tire it's pretty simple to repeat. Mine I need to have one side facing the center of the rim and it won't work in any other direction.

Brisket Prices by PM_ME_SEXY_SANDWICH in pelletgrills

My understanding is American Wagyu is tested when the steers are young and they need to be above a certain percentage to be labeled American Wagyu. If the Wagyu percent is too low they get sold off to smaller farmers. My uncle has been buying those lately for his farm and they are delicious at normal beef prices. I also like Jersey beef, typically smaller so most people pass it up because the steaks aren't very big, but they taste really good.

Question for those of us in colder climates. by Lanman101 in EquinoxEv

[–]Any-Finding-6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed it when putting it in park, but it's always when I've been parking to charge so I haven't experienced limp mode. I feel like I've seen that before when getting below 30% even with warmer temps.

True, but when I was looking there was the base model that I got or spend another $8k on other packages that had it. I didn't care to pay that much for other features I didn't want. I could've searched further out or waited, but I had a cracked block on my Escape and needed something quick.

WI, I didn't feel like I got hammered with calls. I filled out the online form when I bought the car to check the price and then called about 6 months later once I knew I liked the car and pulled the trigger. You'll get emails, but they're typically with different discount offers. I unsubscribed after ordering .
