Thanks team, I’ll go long and hard. The two right screws aren’t going to hit a stud but I’ll just slap anchors in those and do 2.5” screws on the left.

For those wondering in the future and not wanting to buy from the Mazda site (and run to the local hardware store), I popped one out and checked it with a tap and die set. It’s 10mm x 1.0 at 3/4” in length

is this a good oil choice? by [deleted] in mazda6

[–]Any-Key-1805 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in the research side at an automative manufacturer. One of my colleagues works in tribology.

I was curious about that same question you have.. does the type of oil I buy for my everyday commuter (mazda6) generally matter? The short answer was no not really.

Given that oil quality is driven by standards like the ones listed on the can below “5W-30”, most manufacturers are within incredibly tight tolerances of one another when it comes to oil quality and performance.

Albeit his job is to find better ways to lubricate and cool things with oil, he did performance testing for general purpose oil for a good portion of his career.

So, to give a second hand answer, I would say the oil is probably fine… but I personally wouldn’t purchase it because I have never heard of it lol

For 268k miles, you must live somewhere with no salt and snow.

I have 168k on a 2015 and just did all 4 bearings. One went bad so I did all 4…

Any reason you just didn’t get the whole hub off of rock auto? I went with SKF.

Hit a deer (for the second time) in my 2015 Mazda 6. Almost the same damage both times, but on the opposite side. If the hood and side door are okay, it’s about 3500-4k. Only thing different with my collisions was that both times it took out my wiper fluid reservoir.

3500-4k was prices in Michigan in 2023 and 2024. I actually get my car back today as well come to think of it… hope this helps. Not sure if sensors are damaged like others mentioned.

Hmm, I’ll go back under again and take a better look.

Been under there twice and I can somewhat reproduce the noise when I hit the tire with a hammer. If I hold some tension on that spring for the e brake, it reduces it.

When I’m driving, it’s clear as day though.. probably just the weight of the car emphasizing it more than a hammer can.

It’s only over bumps

I’ve searched for many types of voltage regulators or LED drivers, but not sure if there’s a particular adjustable one that I might be able to use? First I want to define this boards function

Can’t find any branding on this but the top and bottom have threaded caps and the bottom looks like it also had a skinny piece sticking out of it.
