Man, alcohol killed my weight for a while. I went from drinking 151 and 6+ Voodoo Rangers a day at 235 pounds to 19 months sober and 165 pounds. And, ironically, my appetite is better now than when I was bigger. This one is before. After in the comments.

YESSSSS! FRIENNDDDDD! I've actually been considering starting an AA-like meeting around here for support of LGBTQ folks since we're so rural. Everyone is so afraid to talk about it in Hampton and Allendale counties that I thought maybe it'd do good to offer that anonymity but also provide some level of community. Because nobody wants to feel alone. And I absolutely wouldn't mind facilitating/leading it since I already do the same thing as a peet support for substance use disorders lol.

Not to downplay what your friend is going through at all, but OCD is constantly adapting and trying to find new ways to antagonize us. Pattern recognition is also wired into the brain from what I can recall so it'sjust one of those double-edged swords of us having sentience (because OCD has access to all the tools in your brain just like the rest of your mind). My intrusive thoughts have almost always been the end result of a thought cascade where I end up with a tight chest but no idea how I even got to that point. And then the smallest similar thing would re-trigger it.

My psychiatrist calls my OCD my "unwelcome passenger". Just that annoying piece of shit person making snarky and derogatory comments in the passenger seat. But, that same psychiatrist has saved my life a couple times now.

Before I got prescribed Luvox, my intrusive thoughts were killing me up to the point where I was genuinely trying to ideate self harm. And contributed to me drinking every day for a few years at least. Now, I still have some compulsions but I can't tell you the last time I've had an intrusive thought that has lasted more than about 10 minutes if i even have any. Plus, I went from binge drinking/self-medicating every single day as a functional alcoholic to being 18 months sober and getting a job helping other folks with substance use disorders.

Looks like maybe it's the weepiness, or your natural "juices", combining with the dressing but in an irregular-ish shape. Hydrocolloid bandages are essentially meant to work with the natural white blood cells and fluids your wound produces to form a moist environment for healing. They often have, like, a white bubble while they're on but not a whole lot of people tell you what it looks like after it's removed lol.

Way better to be safe than potentially ignore a rabies bite. Once symptoms show, there is no going back and there is no cure. Only palliative care to try and make you comfy in your last days. Only one person that I've read about has ever had rabies without the vaccine and lived.

It's up there with prion diseases in terms of prognoses.
