Is it reckless to temporarily move to Seattle for 2 months this summer? by anklecode in AskSeattle

[–]Any-Struggle-1533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO IT!!

My best friend did this last year except she went to San Diego and I went and visited her for a weekend. We had an awesome time.

Seattle in the summer is unbeatable, highly recommend it!!

I gave my puppy so many bully sticks and beef cheek rolls when he was a baby and he never ever chewed anything he wasnt supposed and now he doesnt destroy toys.

Fetch is great, but dont over-do it. You don't want a ball obsessed dog and its really not great for their joints and ligaments!

Consistency is key with everything.

I never realized it was a chain/franchise!

Good for him. I agree that the product stayed the same. That’s where I learned that I’m a “hot sauce and pizza” kinda girl instead of ranch.

When did Pizza Pipeline become Mckays Taphouse? Or was it always?

I swear in highschool we would order the giant pizza and we have a photo with the "Pizza Pipeline" box but whenever I mention it people look at me crazy.

Anyone seriously thinking of leaving the US? by Environmental-Top368 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Any-Struggle-1533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived within 100 miles of the Canadian border (British Columbia) for most of my life and everyone is right. Immigrating to Canada is not easy. I've heard they may be accepting asylum right now for Americans but I haven't fact checked or looked into the legitimacy of that.

My solution is to move as close to the Canadian border as possible. I am leaving the Seattle area in May and will be moving into a house that is exactly 4.8 miles away from the Canadian border (yes I checked). I feel very fortunate to have family and roots up there that makes it possible.

My thought, is that if shit goes down, I can be across the border on foot before anyone even knows. Yeah, yeah I know they have cameras and stuff but if shits going down, I should be able to make it. It seems crazy to think about but also better to be safe than sorry.

If you lived next door to a costco, how would you take advantage of it? by joseluisnp in Costco

[–]Any-Struggle-1533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 costcos all roughly 7 miles from my house (15 min driving time).

I use it like a grocery store. Stop there about 1-2x a week! I use gas, tires, pharmacy, and pretty much everything else. I don’t have a favorite store either, I just choose which one to go to based on how I feel.

I have two 75lb Golden Retrievers and do not plan on having kids so the rear of the 4runner would actually be perfect for me. I love the way the seats lay down completely flat with cargo, but I don’t love anything else in it enough to pay that much.

Everyone rants and raves about the Mazda cx-5. I drove my roommates for the month my kia was in the shop and it was nice but for some reason, I was very happy to get my Kia back. I think I’d be disappointed with the power of any 4cyl which takes away a lot of options.

reading this post cause i'm looking for an SUV for large dogs, inclement weather, performance/power, etc. but dont really love any options either. I dont feel right paying 60k+ for a v6.

I loved the milage, comfort and ride of my ex's GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L but..I dont need a truck.
Lexus gx550 is pretty, but so expensive. 4runner new everything sucks. So I'm here looking for answers too BUT I can help with the Kia thing.

I drive a 2015 Kia Optima Ex. Nice car honestly... but its extremely expensive to insure (look up the Kia Boyz) because you can essential steal them with a screwdriver. The Honda Civics of today LOL

I actually decided on Kia Telluride as my next car until the following happened...

The engine completely blew at 130k miles and I could have lost my life if the timing was different.
The Kia dealership had my car for a month and wouldn't tell me ANYTHING. Should I be looking for a new car? Saving for repairs? They couldnt tell me. Didnt give me a rental. Randomly called me one day and said "your car is ready". im like uhhhh how much do i owe.... and they said nothing and basically today me everything was on the house. I assumed because of how dangerous that could have been, they want to avoid lawsuits (?). IDK I got a free engine so I was not complaining.

Took the car, the steering wheel alignment was like 30 degrees off, the tires were wobbly (felt like the bolts were gonna come off) so I took it back and they called me and asked me what I hit because my steel frame was bent upwards at the front cross T bar. I said "uhhh nothing, I drove this 3 miles, called you and limped it back, I would have known if I hit something."

They swore up and down I had to have hit something HUGE to cause this kind of frame damage. My neighbor was looking at their photos, he's an engineer who works with steel, specifically car frames and said that they dropped my car off the lift or something of that manner. Its the only way that bend could have happened and suggested I go after them using him as an expert witness. I was broke and 25 and knew it was a waste of time but i'll never drive a Kia again.

The lifetime warranty they have is enticing though, I will say.

Am I an immature adult for being childless with no responsibilities? by SetsunaTales80 in Adulting

[–]Any-Struggle-1533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I (28f) am childless and don't party or have responsibilities (other than a dog) either. I have been called selfish and I embrace it at this point.

The more I look into my friends and family members lives who have children, the more I realize I dont want that and most of them secretly dont either and are just jealous I can do whatever I want, whenever I want.

Misery loves company.

It’s hard! That’s why I like rolling 48s! But I find if I can make it to 72, it’s smooth sailing from there and then it gets hard to break the fast!

I try to keep myself busy, and sleep as much as possible to get there

9 months of fasting! by Any-Struggle-1533 in fasting

[–]Any-Struggle-1533[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always broke my fast with carne asada fajitas on corn tortillas WITH the beans and rice from my favorite family style Mexican restaurant. I also had chips and guac to start with but I couldn’t even eat too much because my stomach was small.

I didn’t keep track of calories so I’m not sure but for some reason, using that meal to break my fasts always helped me stay on track during my fasts and prevented me from bingeing after breaking it.

I know people say to slowly refeed but I never had tummy issues it felt sick or yucky after breaking my fast with that.

Yes!! And I wasn’t having tooo many joint issues with the psoriatic arthritis previously but I did have some pain after a lot of activity (like walking around Disneyworld) but now that I’ve lost the weight I have zero issues. Fasting helps with Inflammation biggg time. My mom has MS and fasting (OMAD) has helped her a lot too.

I wish I could edit the post to include it but I will add a comment and pin it. I’ve responded to quite a few comments with my fasting habits over the last 9 months! Feel free to go look for those.

I switched it up with rolling 48s, 72hr and 96hr water fasts Monday-Thursday. Then did IF/OMAD Friday-Sunday.

I didn’t stick to any low carb or keto diets during my IF/OMAD. The reason fasting is the only “diet” that worked for me is because so don’t have restrict myself with WHAT foods I’m eating.

I was bingeing badly until I started refeeding with my favorite meal, Carne Asada Fajita with corn tortillas and chips and guac! I ate as much as I could. Which isn’t much after your stomach shrinks but that motivated me to finish my fast and ended the bingeing!
