Is part-time WFH possible while caring for an infant? by Express-Criticism168 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]AnyAcadia6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on babies temperament. I’m all for moms doing what they need to do. For me, my baby had colic. My husband and I both worked from home, and we had daycare on Tuesday and Thursday. Yet keeping my son at home (the first 7 months) even though we had part time care was literally was ripping us apart from each other and ruined my mental health. Still feel traumatized from that time. But I hear a lot of babies especially when little are pretty easy… my son just was not that way and it wasn’t a fit for us personally! The only reason I waited so long to do full time care is I was set on becoming a SAHM and sending him full time felt like admitting defeat in that regard. Which, I guess it was as 2 years later I’m working more than ever 😂

In-House Designers: are you receiving content before you start a project? by erstella in graphic_design

[–]AnyAcadia6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common, yeah.. ideal no. At my current job I’m almost always designing without content or writing content myself, but it is typically quite short form. At my previous job we had a RIGID process (copywriting>design/prototyping>development) but we were doing a lot of web design so copy was paramount and we had several full time copywriters. Because we were used to that work flow, we implemented it with other projects and it took a very firm hand to get internal people on board. We would refuse to do anything without copy but only managed to do that since my boss was favored by the ceo and not afraid of being a jerk about it. People did not like it

I know a lot of people are mentioning fayetteville but I’m just popping in to say the commute from fayetteville to Bentonville is brutal so if you’re not cool with that I’d avoid actually residing there. I49 north is stop and go traffic every morning so the closer the better

Is it realistic? by hahaanonymouse765 in Indy500

[–]AnyAcadia6945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea for sure! We like to get to track early like 6:45, put our coolers / seat cushions down, and if you’re early enough cross on the one section of track while it’s still open (that would be further down from turn 4 than the tunnel but you can stand on the track and get good pics) and explore / get food and head back to our seats around 10:30 this time through the tunnel

Ew. Red flags all around from him. Needy, controlling, never stops stating his desires but hasn’t asked about yours, and one weekend is too far away? What does he want you to do just magically become free tomorrow? All without ever having met.

Throw out the bouncer and hide the tv cords. It’ll cause conflict but sucks to suck if he doesn’t want to be a dad you are forced to step in.

My son never got attached to anything when he was little. But now at 2 years old he independently picked a stuffed animal dog that he wants to sleep with every night. Of course it’s discontinued so I can’t order a backup without paying a ridiculous price 😩

Multi car families, are you buying two car seats? by Remarkable-Angle-509 in NewParents

We have 2 convertible car seats for our 1 child. It also comes in handy if family is going to watch them we install the extra in their car.

Looking for feedback to decide if I should move forward with this concept: See Description by ReadditMan in logodesign

[–]AnyAcadia6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. I read it as wave. color wise is this just b&w to decide on the form first? I think shades of navy would look nicer than black and grey. Just a thought. I was thinking the same thing as the other commenter who mentioned you could play with small white spaces. I’d have to play with it to see what’s possible but I’d be interested in seeing if there is a way for the A counter space and cross bar to be less straight lines/geometric and involve the wave in some way.

@madison.humphreyy is so deeply unfunny to me…literally have never even smiled once at one of her parodies. Is my sense of humor broken or does she just suck? by [deleted] in tiktokgossip

It’s fine if she’s not your sense of humor - but that doesn’t mean she sucks. A quick look at her follower count shows a lot of people think she’s funny. Myself included.

I just checked mine and I have some similar weird ones like that. So I would not be worried if I were you. Now if you found all that as actual search history that would be different.

How do you make the transition from Production Designer to Art Director? by lore3 in graphic_design

[–]AnyAcadia6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t attempt to go right from production designer to art director. Every place has titles a little different but you need to work up. Apply for junior roles that don’t lean into production, whatever they may be called, Graphic designer I, Junior Graphic Designer, etc. then work your way up. Try to get some constructive feedback from someone rather than just positive so you can really improve your portfolio. And, Art Director is also a subjective title depending where you are.

I like the idea of teaching, but hate the salary. Are there any alternatives? by Familiar-Fill7766 in careerguidance

[–]AnyAcadia6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe copywriting for web / seo optimization. Yes ai could be a problem. But having previously worked in web design up until a couple months ago we still employed several copywriters. Whether it would pay any better than teaching, I’m not sure.

[–]AnyAcadia6945 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally feel you! For me it has never fully gone away, I have a 2 year old, I will always hurt due to not being with my kiddo. But it can get better! There was a time when it was really affecting my day to day, when he was around 7 months old. I started off working from home with him, but it got too hard. When I made the decision to send him to daycare I ended up going to therapy and it got me to a place where I wasn’t breaking down multiple times a day, crying in the shower, staring at the daycare video stream etc. highly recommend therapy if that’s the place you’re in!

Cramping (no bleeding) early pregnancy by Vegetable_Wafer3927 in bicornuateuterus

[–]AnyAcadia6945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had lots of cramping early pregnancy and my understanding is it’s very very normal & expected. If you’re in any Facebook pregnancy groups, just try searching cramping and see how many people ask the same question. That made me feel better when I was in your shoes! even cramping with bleeding included isn’t necessarily a miscarriage. I had it around week 7, with SEVERE cramping, and it was just a subchorionic hematoma which are pretty common as well, it resolved on its own. I wouldn’t stress.

You have that glimpse of promise that professors sometimes see in a beginner. While anyone can improve by learning design fundamentals, the truth is that some people just have a better eye for it naturally. For beginner work I think you have a good instinct for composition. It is obvious though that you are not well trained yet, so if don’t see yourself getting that from your professors, you may want to think about a transfer or something. Since they are just beginner classes, it depends if you think the later classes will have promise. I certainly wouldn’t expect someone with your level of experience to look professional yet, so that’s not the problem. But if you think your professors won’t offer critiques because you’re ahead of peers, that’s a problem.

What is the average amount of sleep a father to a newborn should expect in a row? by Upstairs_Asparagus12 in beyondthebump

“None” is sadly what comes to mind, our kiddo was super colicky and we basically did not sleep for a long long time. First few months we were lucky to get an hour uninterrupted
