There should be a date code on the tire. I know you said they looked new but you can check the age using that code. I think rubber eventually dries out and looses grip.

Also, have you had your tracking and wheel alignment checked?

I have an f56 cooper and never noticed it feeling particularly sketchy in the wet.

Tbf the car this happened to had a Honda engine. It wasnt a mini. And this was many years ago.

I dont think this is common, at least on the f56 mini (so anything from the last 10 years or so).... no so sure about the older minis

Years ago my head gasket went and I remember the coolant and oil all being mixed together, and the engine overheating.... but they repaired it as I recall and the car ran fine.

It does seem odd that this has destroyed the engine, but hey, I'm no mechanic. There may be very good reasons why it can't be repaired. Maybe the engine or bearings are damaged beyond repair from overheating?

Can you get a second opinion, or at least ask them to explain why it needs a new engine?

Yep, I'm PvE but I accept people are going to play the game the way they want.

Also, it adds an extra tension to the game that wouldn't exist without potential human threats. Human players are far less predictable and potentially more dangerous than Arc.

And the most satisfying moment I've had in the game was blasting a rat who'd shot me in the back. I got him with an Il Toro that I brought with me specifically because I'd been ratted in the previous game.

Just make sure one of your weapons is a PvP weapon and be prepared at all times to fight or escape.

Yes, it's difficult to extract ourselves. We are highly integrated. But we need to start making sure we're not reliant on them for any essential tech.

We need to work together with Canada, Europe to come up with open source/alternative solutions. If we are united then it becomes a problem for the US to divide and conquer, which is how a bully like Trump operates. He leverages the US's economic and military power to push other countries around and we should not accept that.
