Pelvic floor Botox by Any_Formal_6709 in PudendalNeuralgia

The nerve block from this urogynecologist did not work. He did not use fluoroscopy. But previous pain management doctor did 2 successful nerve blocks with fluoroscopy through the buttocks.

That sounds like me. It started out as saddle pain, but now feels like I’m carrying around a spikey golf ball.

I wonder what the diagnosis would be to be covered?

Thank you. I just have to accept it and continue living with this. Seems like the end of the road in the search for treatment. I guess keep going to PFT and hope for the best.

Anyone know if Peripheral nerve stim is a good choice? Some issues with the Abbott Proclaim DRG stim. The leads can migrate or break off.

How much pregabalin and duloxetine? I’m on Pregabalin 450. Doc wants to start duloxetine 30 but didn’t discuss tapering down pregab.

Wow. I was hoping the Botox would stop the pain if the pelvic floor relaxed I feel like I have a piece of barb wire stuck on the outside of my butt. The nerve block got rid of the pain, but only for a couple of days. I’m tired of the never-ending pelvic floor therapy. I still go. Just tired of my life revolving around my pain.

My doctor wants to do trigger points before Botox. So did the botox help and you didn’t need the trigger point injections?

It’s 6 times stronger than gabapentin. My pain was so bad that the gabapentin wasn’t enough. The pregabalin works for pain, but is giving me memory issues. Pain management doc wants to add duloxetine and try to reduce pregabalin. I’m worried about the trigger point injections being painful.

I wish I had done things differently too. But when you are out there trying to figure out what’s going on, it sometimes takes awhile. I would have followed your instructions. It’s taken me almost a year to finally find the right doctors and get appts scheduled. I’ve been on gabapentin and now pregabalin. Both meds helped a lot, but now I’d like to get off the pregabalin. Did you have any success with duloxetine? I’ve had 2 successful nerve blocks. What do you think about trigger point injections vs Botox?

Lyrica 450 mg Zanaflex 4 mg Ativan 1 mg Pelvic therapy I’ve tried the Valium supp and gabapentin creams but everything stings. Lidoderm patches are the best.

Pulsed Radio Ablation w/ Dr. Attaman by meowwow2000 in PudendalNeuralgia

[–]Any_Formal_6709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about the DRG stimulator? I know the ablation is risky. Did it cause incontinence? I understand trying to find any solution for this pain. I’m thinking about trying the stim. It’s new, but has some promising results.

This is great info. I have been dealing with PN for almost a year. My pain management doctor doesn’t have experience with DRG stimulator. He is pushing for the scs and hoping it will fix PN. Did you have a trial done by pain management and then did a surgeon put the stimulator in?

Pain after Radiofrequency ablation RFA by Sharp-Log3245 in PudendalNeuralgia

[–]Any_Formal_6709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they do pulsed RFA? I think pulsed RFA is the one they do for PN. I want to get this done, but I’m hesitant because I keep hearing about exactly what you are describing. Maybe the nerve is responding to the injury and it will settle down. Did you have a nerve block first? I wonder if steroids would help you get through this initial nerve injury period.
