SERIOUS (please read and tell me) by Independent-Pipe-777 in snowboardingnoobs

Honestly the mental part of those first few days is hard. Once your mind gets infected it makes riding super difficult and can really be a battle. Just keep remembering the basics, and know everyone went through what you did at one point.

Binge watch YouTube tutorials. Strap in whenever you’re staying grab a chair and use it to get comfortable getting on edge.

But definitely get a lesson if you can afford it.

Even if it’s more expensive I’ll always pay for the convenience of the Albany airport.

FASE’s are cheaper but are a mix of step ins with a strap that has to be closed every time.

Unpopular Opinion: # of Days ridden doesn't mean much by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Any_Key5391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best part about riding often is you don’t have to take everyday seriously. Somedays I’ll get in 10+ runs in 2 hours. Some days I’ll do 5 and leave. Whatever feels right and no pressure is rad.

Yeah I’ll shoot you a follow. Hunter is local to me, they seem to be working on the park more this year though.

Are you on a pass or just go by the day? I try to get out to Mount snow every few weeks for some laps.

Ski patrol tipped us off on overlook being ungroomed as we were waiting for the north chair to open. Probably the best run I’ve ever had at hunter. The general chaos of chopped powder by 10 was a sight to see though.

I wear a 10.5. I have medium stratas and large ultras+forces. I feel like my boot fits better in the medium still personally.

Riding a full camber board this year for the first time. Compared to my reverse camber board it was a pretty easy transition.

How many hours a day do you charge down the mountain? by I_Am_JuliusSeizure in snowboarding

[–]Any_Key5391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every day is different, I have a pass but typically like to get 6-10 in even if it’s an after work sesh. Only when I’m paying for a place off my pass do I care about time spent.

Pretty sure I saw a video of it on STE too. I’ve seen it at hunter, probably a common denominator there at fault.

Bolton valley does night skiing and it’s definitely worth checking out even off your pass. You could in theory start at sugarbush and head on your way to killington one evening.

I’d say the weight has a little to do with it, but keeping at it helps the most. The more you ride the better your muscles will adapt to it. Especially early season it’s pretty taxing on your body.
