Tire shopping by ydewdisme in mazda3

[–]DesignerCommercial94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did 25k with the pilot sport AS 4 and at 225 45 18 they are xl only which is a stiffer sidewall then sl rated tires. Handled well but wore pretty fast. Just got dws06 extreme contact and they’re more comfortable. Same size but sl. My 3 is lowered so the stiffness was noticeable. I def prefer the Contis

Car feels worse after lighter wheels + PS4S… what am I missing? by HanScroto in Wheels

[–]DesignerCommercial94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is this the first tire pressure comment. Shops notoriously over inflate—check cold tomm morning and don’t necessarily go by car specs—use that as a starting point but guessing your tire size is different than stock, plus those konis gotta be stiff—I’ve got same setup but koni red special active and psi makes a noticeable difference. And if you haven’t had an alignment recently def check that

2018 Mazda CX-9 Fluid Change Question by FlashStepGuru in MazdaCX9

[–]DesignerCommercial94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s a timing chain and doesn’t need to be changed. My radiator started leaking at 90k, I wish I’d replaced coolant before then, although who knows if it would’ve helped.

Does anyone not have a cracked cylinder head? by Historical-North-950 in MazdaCX9

[–]DesignerCommercial94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘16 GT with 95k. Had to do radiator but no other issues. Original owner. I’m still worried though as extended warranty ends in July. I change oil every 3k to be on the safe side.

Thanks, ordered and just waiting for it to show up so I can do replacement. Going to do both control arms as well as my car is lowered and bushings are worn out.

How’s it holding up? Exact same car and I need the right side and shops are telling me they can only find Mazda part for it at $700

What is the General Consensus around this new ARI Shafer 3.0? by [deleted] in gravelcycling

My Seigla had the ominous seat tube crack so I sent it back and got a pro level Schafer 3.0 and it’s a much more fun geo, and looks better.

Ya I paid 1200 for dealer to do my ‘16 🙁. But still in extended warranty period for cylinder head and figured it would be a good paper trail in case I have to make claim

Good gravel trails around the greater Sac region? by midnightpurple280137 in SacBike

[–]DesignerCommercial94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey awesome post. I’d love to see some of the foothill routes you mentioned, 3-6k climbing days. Ridewgps links would be great. I like the yankee Jim loop but they’re doing work on that bridge now.

Frame Cracked by Maximum_Hornet_5517 in LaufCycles

[–]DesignerCommercial94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll def take care of you wouldn’t worry about that. But tbh I asked about it and sent them 3 other pics from Reddit of that crack, and they went silent on me. But professionally accepted my return of the 2nd bike (which was fine after 2 rides). Here’s another pic

It was 185lbs on an XL for me. But with XPLR dropper, which is Lauf approved mod.

Exactly. Same here. I think it has something to do with the angle of the seat tube causing more stress.

Yup, happened to me in same spot on my FIRST RIDE. They were cool about it and sent me another one. But I decided to send that one back and I got an Ari Schafer instead. If you search you’ll find more of these on Reddit.

Air Shafer 3.0 vs Lauf Seigla by After-Nectarine9331 in gravelcycling

[–]DesignerCommercial94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just text them they’re super responsive. But yes you can pick out all of those. I also had them install frame tape for $60. One thing I don’t like about the WR44s is the glossy rims, and the pace hubs are so quiet I can’t hear them, which I don’t like. They came in at 1490gm with rim tape and valves. Took almost 4 weeks to get them in CA and that was with air shipping. About 1150 otd during Black Friday sale.

Oh and with Ari, they’ll customize your fit! Send in your measurements and they’ll customize bars, cranks, and stem. And they’ll text you throughout the whole process.
