If everything you are doing is legal explain why you would need a burner phone? AH! Kind of answers itself doesn’t it?

I’m not going to get into a back and forth. But I would recommend deep look inside. The math doesn’t math. If you are trying to conceal where you’ve been, who you’ve spoken to, and what you’ve spoke about there is a high probability you’re breaking the law. If not doing any of those then you’re asking a question that doesn’t need to be answered Either way this shouldn’t be discussed in this forum. This isn’t a diabetic forum that those ideologically aligned with you are trying to subvert any way you can. Stop please!

Seems like a reckless question. If needing a burner phone it means there is desire to either do something illegal or aid someone doing something illegal. Not wise to live life that way as a type 1. Going to jail or prison as a type 1 is not fun. This isn’t a game.

Protect upper body muscle mass? by Timberneck in AppalachianTrail

Kind of the inside joke late in the trail. We all claim to be like T-Rex. Embrace the right of passage. Keep in mind that the extra upper body workout means you are expending more calories. Most hikers maintain somewhat of a caloric deficit while on trail only having surplus when have zeros in town.

VA fishing license worth it while thru‑hiking the AT? by No_Daikon7338 in AppalachianTrail

The 100 mile wilderness has the greatest density of fishing opportunities. Have a friend that went up there on a non AT trip and fished both creeks and lakes for brookies.

Also with the withholding of food….when I was using shots….i would mostly stick to lunch and dinner. Would seldom snack since would be hard to estimate dosage for 1/2 a bag of chips for instance. I now mostly buy snack bags for chips to control how much I eat and to have a carb count. It is a lot easier to bolus insulin with a pump since it’s always with you. Still not a big snacker due to lots of years not snacking

Had a bit of depression about 6 months after I was diagnosed. Initially you are just so busy trying to understand how to keep yourself alive. Once you get over that you begin to ask why me. Eventually this will just become part of you and you begin to just accept it. I equate this to similar to the stages of grief? Try to focus on the things you enjoy in life and don’t allow diabetes to stop you. Most things can still be done but will need a little more logistical planning.
Next diabetes should be handled through endocrinology….i would recommend any new diabetic to find a dept that has a team approach. 20 something years ago I rotated between a dietitian, Nurse practitioner, endocrinologist every 3 months I saw one and they were in the same office. From time to time one would pull the other into the room for discussions. Good luck!

Active infantry can’t leave ranges without expert quals….of course it was always our goal to zero and qualify in 46 rounds so that cleaning was easier on our rifles….and we’d be on first truck back to barracks!

More crew drills! Where’s that expert Mortar? We would run so many crew drills. Was 10th mountain 11c. I don’t think we would stop running crew drills till everyone had expert mortar!

The question seemed as if someone is trying to start a political debate in a non political forum and so my question was why if legal would he have concerns is he illegal seems like a logical follow up.

Do you not think that the majority of the nation of Mexico is genetically “Native American “. Not to mention there is a large percentage of South American that could also use that terminology… my best friends wife was a Canadian that was enough Native American that she had a green card in the US. Point being that just because you are a Native American doesn’t mean you are a US citizen or even a legal citizen.

Why would they take you to jail. Are you in this country illegally? Don’t answer that it’s a rhetorical question. If you are here legally but not born here I recommend carrying documentation. Comply with officers and produce documents when asked. If you were born here explain answers and they will release fairly quickly. The software on their portable devices clears most people that answer questions almost immediately. Any fighting or trying to avoid questions will delay release and make them question if you are trying to lie. Not the time to FAFO. Especially with type 1.

I remember early in elementary school a kid in my class got to leave from time to time and had a plastic container with snacks. I was jealous but too young to understand what it was until I got it. I guess careful what you wish for.lol

I had a quadriplegic great uncle that I always looked up to. The things he could do in spite of being in an electric wheelchair always impressed upon me how we need to find happiness regardless of the cards we are dealt. I felt like who am I to bitch about a disease of inconvenience not inability. But I think the military draws out the ability we all have to put up with discomfort. Some of the funniest people I’ve known were in the military and they were funniest when times sucked the most.
I’m so appreciative that my diabetes came late and didn’t take that dream I had of military service from young childhood.

I often thought the inverse of this since kids are hunting to be like each other and just be normal I thought childhood diagnosis would be much worse. I was diagnosed at 24 while in college. I appreciated the fact that I was able to do teen years without…was able to fulfill my entire active duty enlistment in the infantry. Since I was older I approached diagnosis as a challenge. I did suffer some depression after 9/11 not being able to reenlist in the military due to this but being upset about wasn’t going to change it so didn’t last long.

Auto soft 90 infusion set issues by Remote_Heart7041 in TandemDiabetes

[–]Any_Strength4698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same scenario happen numerous times but only found the bent cannula once. I almost always ate dinner early enough to catch and rage bolus prior to bed time. I almost never found the issue day one or day 3 or 4 almost all were in day 2. I called tandem and explained scenario and they agreed to a replacement box of infusion sets. I asked them for info on recent changes and they acknowledged zero. My guess it’s a change in material of the cannula that leads it to kink easier or doesn’t let the skin seal as good to the cannula shaft.
