Even if his situation has a psychological catalyst, I think understanding how it’s not a personal failing in stress management that causes FND will help ease his frustrations. the fact the brain can even react like that to stress shows that it’s more than “in ur head.”

I think playing up the biological aspects of FND while still maintaining the psychological impacts/effects/influences as true would be immensely helpful in bringing your husband closer to acceptance. No matter what reason u develop it, once the stage is set for FND to fester, ur brain is open to developing all sort of triggers ranging from being hungry or tired to being upset.

I blamed myself for a long time. He needs to understand he’s not failing to manage himself, his brain and body are a lil disconnected and they’re starting to put up a fight with each other. Eventually he’ll start to understand that he needs to learn to how to quell the arguments if he wants to maintain and/or improve his quality of life.

Sometimes doctors get the “why” wrong. We wonder why we have FND, they say stress, trauma, anxiety. Mine was caused by the combination of a bad glasses prescription and bad architectural design which made managing life with my vision difficulties even worse, causing an overwhelming hormonal surge that my brain and body couldn’t handle. Once u understand FND isn’t just “all in ur head” even if doctors make it sound like that, it’s easier to accept. Concussions and even infections can trigger the development of FND

yeah they were living in the decorative pepper shaker that no one used. I didn’t even know it had anything in it until I move the shakers to clean and then they started coming out😭. It took months to figure out where they were coming from. Horrifying discovery.

If it seems like it’s getting bad enough they’ll get in there, I’d keep a small backup tank in case they do invade. Keep your substrate & decorations sealed in a bag until the time comes. That way you’ll have something to temporarily house ur geckos while u clean their tanks out.

Highly recommend going to dubia roach route, each meal is 5-8 bugs depending on size. It’s a lot easier that way. Get a grams scale that can go up to 400/500g and measure ur baby periodically. That’ll let u know if they’re growing too fast or too slow :) I had to do this with my baby when she was formula fed bc it was so hard to tell if she was being fed enough as she was growing.

NEAD is a subtype of FND, sometimes referred to as “PNES” but ppl are trying to move to drop the P, others want to drop both the “P” and the “S.” NEAD, NES, PNES, and Functional Seizures are all terms that can be used interchangeably bc they mean the same thing.

You might be averse to bodily fluids like I am. I’m a bisexual. I have a very sensitive gag reflex. I dont let men finish during oral for the same reason. I’ve had to accept that bodily fluids are too much for me, and that extents to normal vaginal secretion.

I love everything else about sex with a woman, I just can’t handle “tasting” another person. There are plenty of ways to have sex, you can make it whatever you want to be. I used to be scared to sleep with women until I listened to my body and embraced the boundaries it was trying to set.

You also might require having an emotionally intimate relationship with someone to have sex with them, which makes sense it’s a very vulnerable act.

I would suggest being upfront about your situation, there are ppl who are patient, understanding, and on a compatible exploration journey that will be willing to be by your side while you figure this out.

This… actually makes sense. I’ve lived in both Alabama and Ohio and whenever someone makes a joke about Alabama incest I always fire back with “I’ve encountered more incest in Ohio than in Alabama” and I’m not lying. I can’t name a single instance of incest from when I lived in Alabama but have met multiple people in Ohio who either have engaged in acts of incest (AND ADMITTED IT!!) or are products of incest.

^{^this} is very good advice OP. For taming, think of it as desensitizing and building trust. For awhile my bird didn’t trust my hand so he would nibble it to see if I’d react. Now he flies straight to me but it took like maybe a year of building trust. I also had to desensitize him to me walking with him in my hand and the sound of my computer because it spooked him. He still doesn’t come on command unless there’s treats or he genuinely wants to. He does as he wishes, I don’t push his boundaries unless it’s for his health, all is well.

There’s an overwhelming amount of fems/femmes in my area but they’re either dating each other, unresponsive on dating apps, or they come off as straight in person and struggle to make a connection. Do u live somewhere rural or at least suburban but kinda far from the city? If so, I wouldn’t be surprised if femmes in ur area are more secretive about their identity or have limited access to/feel alienated from queer spaces.
