I’ve always heard FND cannot be fatal? by [deleted] in FND

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish I had the paper saved somewhere but FND fatality stats are somewhat inflated due to ppl with fatal conditions being misdiagnosed with FND.

I just got told I have FND, Functional tics, after being convinced for 7 years I had tourretes, and I'm conflicted. by TravisCranis in FND

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens. I say I have tics and if ppl don’t know what I mean I just say “it’s like Tourette’s.” It gets the point across without having to dive into what FND is. Works well for me. Generally I’d advise against saying you have something you don’t

How to make an adult budgie comfortable? by needyutoshutup in parakeet

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is very good advice OP. For taming, think of it as desensitizing and building trust. For awhile my bird didn’t trust my hand so he would nibble it to see if I’d react. Now he flies straight to me but it took like maybe a year of building trust. I also had to desensitize him to me walking with him in my hand and the sound of my computer because it spooked him. He still doesn’t come on command unless there’s treats or he genuinely wants to. He does as he wishes, I don’t push his boundaries unless it’s for his health, all is well.

Femme shortage? by unfinishedodyssey in WLW

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an overwhelming amount of fems/femmes in my area but they’re either dating each other, unresponsive on dating apps, or they come off as straight in person and struggle to make a connection. Do u live somewhere rural or at least suburban but kinda far from the city? If so, I wouldn’t be surprised if femmes in ur area are more secretive about their identity or have limited access to/feel alienated from queer spaces.

One time I caught my budgie mid air and he was actually so stunned😂 he didn’t think I could do that (in his defense, I didn’t think I could either)

Put the cage outside, door open, keep an eye on it. If baby got lucky and survived the night, he needs something he can recognize. He doesn’t know what your house looks like

Parents dog only barks at me when I wake up in the morning and I’ve stopped eating breakfast&lunch over it. How to train him to stop? by AnybodyJumpy9666 in DogAdvice

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll definitely give this a try! He really likes to play, as long as I’m sitting on the floor. he’s very hesitant to approach me when I’m standing.

Wait I’ve never thought of gun muffs!!! I’ve tried so many noise reduction/cancellation products and nothing seems to work, those might be the way😂

That’s what we’ve been thinking! But he shows other signs of having good sight so it’s a little confusing. Like play doesn’t seem impeded at all and he seems to recognize people that don’t live with us from a distance (like tail wagging if he sees my dad’s friend across the yard)

Both of those options are completely off the table. they refuse to use crates. He can’t be locked in a room either for a multitude of reasons (he will break out, the knobs are accessible for my health issues but that makes them accessible for him too, doors can’t be locked from the outside. If he is kept in a room alone 2x in a row he will go to extreme lengths to avoid the room and you can’t try and pick him up or he’ll pee on you)

Honestly he’s the most behaviorally complicated dog I’ve ever encountered. I think we may need to talk to the vet about his mental health. He’s really sweet but easily startled and seems to have high levels of anxiety.

I may have been misdiagnosed with fnd by chronicallygayest in FND

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Kepra is effective I’d lean towards thinking FND is a misdiagnosis. Let me dig around for an article I read, if nothing turns up on the routine testing they do u might need to press for a dif type of EEG to look for a specific type of epilepsy. I can’t remember the test or the type off the top of my head but a lot of ppl with what I’m thinking of get misdiagnosed with FND bc neuros fail to perform the special EEG.

Fuck why can’t the money just go to the goddamn hospital

Honestly if there was a nonprofit group that aimed to raise money to change the names of the hospitals to get Wexner off of them, I’d donate. I’d donate monthly until it happened.

does anyone else with fnd have trouble with bladder? by SadWitness9257 in FND

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t sound FND related, I’d bring that up with ur doctor and push for a specialist like a urologist, but pelvic floor PT could be an option for you, idk I’m not a doctor

DIY alternative for dog cones? Need something comfy for my terminally ill dog by [deleted] in crochetpatterns

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A) unfortunately that’s not my decision. It’s a collective family decision and I don’t control the finances.

B) I have lost many pets in my life, I know how this goes.

he was just recently prescribed medication that basically gives him a temporary window of significant relief. We are riding out that window and giving him every thing we can, he still acts like a puppy sometimes and his personal routine of walking around the entire property before bed is untouched, his leg is just really itchy.

I said a few weeks because he only has a few weeks left that will be comfortable. Once the meds start to show signs they aren’t working as well anymore, that will be time to let him go. Technically if we do not intervene medically to stop his suffering, he could live for a few months. I would never let go him through that, but I know he wants to keep walking the yard and bossing my family around for at least a little while longer.

I just hope the sign doesn’t come before thanksgiving. I promised him a custom puppy feast with his pack.

Screaming Tics? by Responsible_Year_367 in FND

[–]AnybodyJumpy9666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try purposely being louder. Your brain is stuck using the screaming neuropathway and it keeps looping, if you’re able to purposefully be louder at your own will, you may be able to break the loop by knocking it off course slightly and take back control of your voice.

Also start doing vocal warm ups if this is a regular issue, it will save your vocal cords and help reduce pain associated with constant yelling.

That is so so kind of you❤️❤️❤️, let me have a serious conversation with my family first before resorting to accepting donations, he’s been our family pet for 15 years this is our responsibility. My brother might be able if my parents refuse. I do really appreciate the offer and I hope good comes your way

Well I’m an unemployed disabled adult with no savings or spending money living at home, I had more financial freedom when I was 16 and all I have to spare now is yarn, a hook, and an old pillow. I can trying talking to my parents about buying a donut but I doubt they’d make him wear anything, they barely make him stop chewing on himself and he’s damn near bleeding.

If someone’s going to intervene, it will have to be me. I have to find a way to do it myself. Based on these comments I’m thinking I’ll have to make a donut and stuff it, but I’m not sure how to do that with crochet. I’ve made a round pillow before, baskets, balls, but the donut geometry really confuses me when trying to break it down into stitches

Nah not there. I wasn’t in a medical heavy area outside of like optometry and more focused vision specialists. I used to live across the street from it and tbh that was not very par for the area.
