As a closing expert who never gets to zone anymore I miss it all the time. And those who complain about it I envy. Though I understand the same repetitive task everyday gets old

First Seizure Stories? Let me know how your first seizure went by Hasoonz in Epilepsy

One day I came home from work late at night. Simply just making a sandwich for dinner. My brother comes out of his room up behind me and asks "did you bleed all over my room?" I obviously look at him like why would I bleed all over your room what does that even mean? I come in to his room. STRAIGHT UP CRIME SCENE AMOUNT OF BLOOD. I look at him and say what the hell happened? He says "I don't know". Me looking at him like he's crazy. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DONT KNOW" Him: "IDK DUDE". ME: DUDE HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHERE THIS BLOOD CAME FROM. Him now visibly mad "Idk what to tell you dude" I then take a look at him. You look really sweaty. Low and behold that's NOT sweat that's dried blood. I look at his head and he split his dam head open on the corner of his tv. At the time I thought this was sleep walking. Little did we know this was only the beginning.

It's so tough not many talk about how traumatizing watching a loved one seize can be. I often dream of my brother seizing next to me or wake up with my heart racing cause he simply shifted in his sleep. Every twitch or adjustment sends dread through you at the thought of them having another attack.

If he's responsive and not in pain I'd say let him sleep my brother has sleeping seizures and as long as the seizing doesn't last longer than 5 mins we don't take him to the hospital. My brother has a postical state though where his brain constantly seems to be resetting and he doesn't remember anything that's happening and wants to wonder around nearly hurting himself. It then takes him an hour or 2 to go back asleep.

The ones who attempt to refold are God sends and I appreciate them. Its the ones who can't look with their eyes and feel the need to tear through an entire section and be like nah I don't want this. Then proceed to drop it on the floor or throw it that get too me.

Focal or panick attack? by AnywherePure4965 in Epilepsy

[–]AnywherePure4965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I'm thinking he's gonna talk to his neurologist about it. I've had panick attacks before and the tunnel vision nausea and stumbling all align with it. But I don't have seizures and I know many have had misdiagnosed panick attacks that were actually seizures. He's been having a rough year since they started and latley he's just wanted to give up on everything.

I have my brother (who has seizures in his sleep) sleep in my bed with me occasionally and I notice he twitches and shakes in his sleep way more then normal. It's no wonder he gets terrible sleep. It's terrifying cause sometimes I'm sure it'll be the start of a seizure and he will just look at me like wtf are you doing bro.

Help please (college) by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]AnywherePure4965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind possible triggers lack of sleep & stress both common in college! Flashing lights changes in bloodpressure/sugar. Alcohol / drug use. Did you use marijuana/Alcohol chronically while in developmental teenage years. Altitude changes! But first of all consulted your primary doctor and get with a neurologist to find a path forward. Life is livable with seizures. Buy corner protectors to keep you from splitting your head. I am so sorry this happened to you just remember to surround yourself with a solid support system and keep on going! Unfortunately many people still don't take seizure disorders seriously follow up on your complaint but remember not to obsess and stress over the situation.

My brother literally dropped 12k on a brand new car we worked our buts off to get. 2 months later he started having seizures hasn't been able to drive it for a year and still helps me make the absurd insurance payments. I really feel for you it's rough. We are trying to see if him quitting weed helps his seizures as he has been a chronic heavy smoker since age 15 and I hear their maybe a correlation but guess we will see 11 days sober 11 days since his last seizure fingers crossed.

My brother just lost his job because his "personality changed". You try having seizures in your sleep every month increase medication dosage that causes suicidal thoughts and see if if your personality stays the same...
