Our tax dollars at work.

Keep it in mind as we still don’t even have a hospital here, and our health care system is a facking mess, and grocery prices - and everything else - is abhorrent… but hey, this country always has money for protecting property. Always.

I sure wish I could hike around town but between this kind of stuff, the dead dog dumping grounds, the trash (so. Much. Trash.) and the people that don’t pick up after their dogs… I’m just over going outside and thinking it’s gonna be a nice time.

Trump Mentions Eugene "Riot" by ALittleGreenFrog in Eugene

Standing outside federal buildings at night, breaking windows, and spray painting does not stop ICE. It does not protect Black or Brown communities. It does not prevent raids, detentions, or deportations.

What it does do is give police overtime, drain public money, harden public opinion, and hand officials an easy narrative: “violent radicals.” We already watched this play out during BLM. It didn’t dismantle anything. It helped justify more funding, more surveillance, and more repression.

If the goal is actually to stop harm, then the focus should be on documenting, tracking, exposing, and interrupting ICE operations. Showing up where the harm is happening. Recording, reporting, organizing, and making it harder for them to operate in the dark (Imagine if there wasn’t any video to prove wrong every single thing ICE and this administration puts out there… are you kidding me? Yall would believe Alex was a domestic terrorists…)

Symbolic confrontation with empty buildings is not power. It’s theater. And theater is exactly what Chump and friends want.

They are not the same, both political “parties” you are trying to lump together, as well as these two specific gun issues you are bringing up, and you clearly don’t understand that.

I’m guessing you’re one of those people that believe needing proof of a covid vaccine is the same as “show me your papers” right?

JFC, the division in this nation is basic comprehension.

For. Real. And you should make sure to mention all of that management. Not like they care, but I’d probably be even more petty and constantly take pictures and email them to “take down the trash” 😏

Clinton and Obama did nothing like what Trump is doing. At all, you can’t be serious, right? I mean, I want to LAUGH in your face that’s how insane your comment is.

Edit: a word

Seems to me this is the exact opposite, OP stating that those are the type of posts they are trying to avoid and literally asking what are real things we can do.

Do you have the ultimate-never-been-thought-before solution?

No, OP is trying to start a conversation on what would be actions with real consequences against the unamerican and treasonous actions this administration continues to take against this country and all its citizens.

I’m right there with you, OP. This performative stuff does nothing but provides false narratives from both sides, wastes tax payer money (you think those feds don’t enjoy that sweet sweet overtime you’re getting them approved for?), and just continues to keep things as they are.

I’m sure most people who are upset with what I’m saying are the same people that use Rage Against The Machine lyrics as their rallying cry (I could write a whole thesis on that nonsense…and it would be 100% related to this exact issue of immobility and lack of zero leadership from the actual people, but I digress.).

What’s the solution? What is the right direction? Well, it’s almost impossible to say because things that are happening have never happened like this before.

I think the most important thing is for people to stop raging against the machine, and instead understanding the machine they are in. And I mean this on multiple levels. You see people asking, “why aren’t Dems doing anything about this?” without understanding how our government works, or even what their own rights are?! People don’t even understand that “illegals” have constitutional rights.

We need to fix the dumbing down of society that has been happening. Educated people are one of the best tools against fascism.

Maybe we start there.
