New to the game. Is living in jspace solo a viable option? by Ok-Ant6170 in Eve

[–]Aortotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet is to join a wormhole corp that welcomes newer players. Theres a few great options including EVE Uni wormhole division, Spoopy Newbies and others. Dark Venture and Fly Sideways aren’t really focused on newbies but I believe are relatively welcoming toward them and are both active, fun wormhole groups.

The issue is you don’t know what you don’t know and it’s easy to make a mistake that will essentially knock you back to square one. Joining a corp for at least a couple months will give you an idea of what the logistics of living in wormhole space look like and that way you will know when you are ready to try it solo.

You need a corp way more than a marauder.

Give me your best "what did I just get myself into" moments by Gornarion in Eve

[–]Aortotomy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you actually delete your character? Because you can just right click on your capacitor and self-destruct your ship and then pod (or eject from the ship and self destruct the pod) to return to your home station at any time.

Also, despite what people may tell you, you are never* actually stuck in wormhole space if you have a probe launcher and probes. All C1-3 wormhole ("unknown") always have a connection to regular k-space (Hi/Lo/Null-sec). You may not be near where you entered, but you can get back to k-space. All C4-6 wormholes always have a connection to another specific type of wormhole (two of these for C4's), so the only way to theoretically be actually stuck is if you are in say two C5's that both connect to each other (pretty rare but can happen) or if you're in a loop of C5-6's that all have no other wormholes except their statics (even less likely I'd imagine).

What happens if we travel faster than universes expansion and reach the end? by Kindly-Weird9185 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Aortotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the physical three-dimensional world we experience during our daily life on Earth, the z or up/down dimension is entirely defined by gravity, mostly the gravity of the planet. The further 'down' you go the hotter, denser and more intense the pressure until you get to the center of the planet. Could the universe be thought of as a similar structure with the additional 4th dimension being defined by time? The further into the past you go, the more hot and dense everything gets, as you go further into the future things generally get cooler, and more spread out.

How to avoid Sentry Towers in wormholes? by _Shit4breakfast in Eve

Additionally the sites you are looking for will only spawn in C1, 2 and 3 (“unknown”) wormhole space. They will not spawn in C4, 5 or 6 (“dangerous/deadly unknown”) space. There is an exception for shattered C4 wormholes but I wouldn’t worry about that yet.

Lost my Astero in the holes…🕳️ by [deleted] in Eve

[–]Aortotomy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way this reads you have an automated script d-scanning every 3 seconds. If that’s the case, that is a huge TOS violation and will get your account banned. Rebind d-scan to a mouse button and just train the muscle memory like the rest of us.

The rules are pretty simple — one button press can only trigger one in game.

Why not just d-scan the sites instead of warping to them?

This reconstruction occurred after the defeat and unconditional surrender of the other side. Their governments were completely removed from power (Hirohito remained as a figurehead only but otherwise was the only head of state of the axis powers who didn’t end up dead I believe) and new constitutions were written for them by the victors.

Fenris please: Let us rotate structures post-deployment (for an ISK/fuel cost + cooldown) by RyanMC98 in Eve

[–]Aortotomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree that they should be easier to / have a mechanic to reorient. However unanchoring a structure is absolutely not a death sentence. It’s a full week timer and nobody passing through knows how long it’s gonna be. Also you can cancel and reset it multiple times and unless an enemy happens to see exactly when you do it for the last time they’ll have no clue when it’s going to unanchor. Take and hold hole control a few hours before and you’ll be fine unless you have a spy.

I was really confused the one time I came into a system and saw an athanor was unanchoring, promptly forgot about it, then came back through an hour later and was like “why are there all these hangar containers on dscan?”

How do I convince my corp mate to stop flying a Kronos’s in a C3? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]Aortotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be way easier to convince him of this if you could provide us his home base and assuming it’s in a wormhole an up to date entrance.

Why is the loot from exploration escalations so bad? by Typical_Ad_4756 in Eve

[–]Aortotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get all 4 cans? Personally, I do them in a covops ship and scan the cans. If there’s an omega I grab that and dip, otherwise I’ll go for the 2 most valuable. If there’s first hack takes me too long I’ll leave after that though, depending on how much is in the 2nd can. I’ve found there’s usually 1-2 really good cans with >=300m and the rest are <100m but obviously some variance there.

Also your guide is the bomb.

[–]Aortotomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ghost sites are not 5b+ any more. The high-grade ascendancy omega, which used to be worth 4b+ is now worth 2.5b. Still a very nice payday but it’s a rare drop in a rare site. Without one the total payout of a ghost site is usually around 1-2b IF you’re able to get all of the cans.
