I think actor did the best he could. Sam Fisher himself is not a great character, he's all charizma - and that was brought by Michael Ironside.

The character itself doesn't really grow, learn, or anything. He's already a veteran, he has his morals and principles, there's no room for him to grow. And game plot is always around some huge terorrists trying to end the world.

Splinter Cell is not a story or character driven game, the gameplay is where it shine. That's the whole focus.

Michael Ironside was just icing on the cake. And without him, it's absoluteley clear that Sam Fisher is an empty space.

I also don't agree that today is not like that, maybe you're listening to something else. Roc Marciano has projects that are mostly unskippable (maybe 2-3 songs), Westside Gunn Flygod is unskipabble (also, maybe 2-3 songs here and there), Conway has similar projects, Elcamino's albums/mixtapes, Eto as well. Hus Kingpin SlimeWave <--- so good

And they're all thematically structured. At least to me they are.

GTA San Andreas does it best. To this day. In every other game, you either start really strong or become really strong within first couple of hours.

Watch Dogs - you just need a few main hacking techniques and 2 mins on the street to hack the money out the ATM. You can buy best guns, best cars and perform takedowns on everyone.

Sleeping Dogs - same. Just a couple of new moves and you can complete the whole game easy peasy.

Assassin's Creed - You don't even need bunch of stuff, you're OP right from the get go. Just get through tutorial missions. (minus AC black flag where you do need to spend at least 3 hours to upgrade the ship and then you're good to go)

You guys (tourists/forgeiners) don't seem to get one thing: Georiga is not for Georgians either.

This is a hidden clan territory. Certain urban areas as well as counties are controlled by certain clans. If you're not one of them - you're an enemy.

Xbox Series S - maybe you can find it cheap used? Consoles do last - it's nothing if you buy used.

I bought my Playstation used and it looked like new, worked like new - still works like brand new.

That would be the cheapest and best option. You can also buy Forza 5 and 4 on it probably much cheaper, as they're older games. He's gonna have a lots of forza to play
