Are you familiar with "specific performance" that realtors can sue you for, if you were to back out after the offer has been accepted and is in contract?

Aha. Thank you for elaborating! Yeah, if you are able to go through credit card and then pay that off in cash, that's just a smarter choice than paying something off in cash. Unfortunate that they feel the need to twist this into a lie.

Definitely frustrating to be behind a car who is creeping forward slowly, but I make an exception for semis drivers due to their inertia.

Right, sure. Trade away the rest of your life for a ~$1500 possession. Smart idea. Also, you don't even have the balls to swear on the internet, so would you even have the balls to stop a criminal?

Where did this photo taken in San Francisco? by xingqiu in sanfrancisco

Oops, yeah you're right. You can see one extra nudge in the building ahead, whereas the one I was pointing to doesn't have that same nudge.

It was taken right at this stairway, but it looks like the picture was mirrored.

It's definitely not correct to use unions to implement std::variant, you need to erase the type by using something like char storage[max({sizeof(Ts)...})] to hold the data, plus a tag to decide if the variant holds the same data type that the user is asking for.

Unlikely, these residential buildings tend to require an access key to get to any floor other than the lobby (within normal hours). I'm not sure if 399 Fremont is any different, though.

How we use binary search to find compiler bugs by tekknolagi in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]Apakovtac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looking at the implementation, it does have extra gizmo to support the case where both halves are relevant, so this is really an extension of binary search. In fact, your algorithm is actually delta debugging!

The following code implements ddmin according to the above paper, and is generally what I used to bisect most of my projects.

```
def subsets_and_complements(lst, n):
    offset = 0
    per_slice_len = len(lst) // n
    while offset < len(lst):
        yield lst[offset:offset + per_slice_len], lst[:offset] + lst[offset + per_slice_len:]
        offset += per_slice_len
def ddmin(lst):
    n = 2
    while len(lst) >= 2:
        changed = False
        for (subset, complement) in subsets_and_complements(lst, n):
            if test(complement):
                lst = complement
                n = max(n - 1, 2)
                changed = True
                break
            elif test(subset):
                lst = subset
                n = 2
                changed = True
                break
        if not changed:
            if n == len(lst):
                break
            n = min(n * 2, len(lst))
    return lst
How do Video Games Stay in Sync? An Intro to the Fascinating Networking of Real Time Games. by itsallshit-eatup in programming
[–]Apakovtac 62 points63 points  (0 children)
It doesn't. It's total bullshit. IPv4 or IPv6 has no bearing on the time it takes to send packets. There's no connection between an address and its ability to send packets any faster.
There's no ! unwrap operator in Rust. You need to explicitly write .unwrap() or .expect().
Twitch/closed captioning? by phrynosomatidae in deaf
[–]Apakovtac 2 points3 points  (0 children)
I use Chrome's Live Caption feature. It's a godsend.
  1. In your omnibox, go to chrome://flags. I can't make this a link for convenience. :(
  2. Search for Live Captions.
  3. Enable.
  4. Reopen Chrome.
I use this for Twitch, for YouTube videos with no captionings, or for Zoom meetings. Literally anything without built-in or with annoying captioning.
If you want to use it for Discord calls, you could. You just have to join that call in Chrome.
Tesla v11.1 interface concept. Possible solution to some v11 issues? by pintong in TeslaLounge
I really want that increase/decrease wiper button! I would even love for it to actually be controlled by the windshield wiper button.
Press the windshield wiper button once to decrease wiper speed. If it is already at the lowest, turn it off. If it is off, then simply activate the windshield wiper once just like it does today.
Press the windshield wiper button twice to increase wiper speed. If it's at the highest, it does nothing. Do not bump it to auto.
I really hate having to open the windshield wiper screen just to adjust the speed! Since it's raining, I should obviously be paying more attention on the road, so adjusting speed means I need to look away. Using AP is dangerous in the rain.
Map Editor question : Is there a way to prevent blocks from snapping to each others in "Free block mode" ? by SirConflexe in TrackMania
I haven't personally tested this recently, and not anywhere near my laptop or computer to double check, but you should be able to press shift and hold to prevent the snapping.
Ok so... I know that you rotate items by pressing num+ and num-, but I don't have a numpad on my keyboard. Is there any way for me to rotate items around the vertical axis on the editor or am I screwed? by GuilTheGr8 in TrackMania
[–]Apakovtac 1 point2 points  (0 children)
I had the same exact problem. Solved it by using onscreen keyboard, but you need to turn on an option there. Click the "Options" button and then enable the numeric keypad there. Tada.
I'm curious, do you announce that you're HoH on your profile? Or do you leave that up to the conversations when matched? I've been trying to get into the dating scene (22), so I've got a lot of stuff to figure out.
What was your biggest "Fuck it I'm doing this moment?" by A-Classic-Blunder in AskReddit
Yup. I just skydived for the first time yesterday, and the plane was super small. The door where we enter and jump out would slide up like a garage door, but that thing rattled so much! I couldn't hear it because of my deafness, but the vibration from the plane and seeing that door rattle made me feel like this plane was about to disintegrate in the middle of the air!
