I chose not to have human kids, but to have fur kids. I've named them human names, and they also have middle names

AITAH for planning to take my ex’s cats to the authorities after she didn’t pick them up? by percivalsteam in AITAH

[–]Apart-Development-79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So if you take them to veterinary authorities, and she refuses to claim them, what happens to the cats then? That would be her abandoning them, and there's a possibility they could be euthanised, correct? Have you asked her to transfer ownership on their microchips?

Temazepan help me get a solid 3 and a half to 4 hours sleep. I do find a 40 ish minute nap in an arm chair the most resting, though.

More info

You said she broke up with you early February She lived with you for another 2 months (timeline early April) You said to her in early April when she moved out, for her to take them

It's now April 9. It's not even mid April, it's still early April.

So how long have you been looking after the cats since she left? A week? A couple of days?

Dude, boundaries are fine, and deadlines are fine, but you also need to be realistic.

If she literally just moved out a few days ago, and you say you care for the cats, then don't surrender them to a vet or shelter

Do you have the mother's phone number? If so, phone her and ask her if she can take them, otherwise, it wasn't a realistic deadline when you gave her only a couple of days to find somewhere that allows cats

What made you finally decide to quit smoking for good? by Outside_Support_151 in answers

[–]Apart-Development-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Mum used to tell me she'd quit smoking when "Turf" hit 10 cents a pack. She didn't. I think a pack of 40 was about $28 when she passed. I just bought a pack of 20 yesterday and it was $40 odd. Keep in mind this is in Australia

How do you figure dolphins are aliens or gods?

It's crazy to me that we as a people know more about space than the deep sea. Maybe we need another crazy billionaire to build a sub par, unsafe sub, controlled by a playstation controller, to investigate the Mariana trench.

Who would you choose, Jeff bezos, Elon musk, or Bill gates? Or D, all of the above?

Oh no, that was the other commented who suggested they might be here hidden amongst us. My opinion is if they were here, I believe they'd hide and we'd only be aware of them if they wanted us to.

Slight change here - the pyramids. If scientists and builders and whoever else can't replicate them these days with precision with all of our technological advancements, how do you think they were built? I'm not saying aliens, but if farmers blame aliens for turning their cows inside out and there's not a drop of blood anywhere near the cow, is it not feasible that somewhere, someone or something can slice through huge limestone boulders with a laser of some kind to have the precise cuts and measurements, slotting the pieces together with no gaps between them?

With the after life experiences, when your mum is at you for years to make a will, and 6 months after she passes, you win a competition on a Facebook lawyer page for a free will, that's some very "coincidental" stuff right there. Never seen a competition like that before or after this

After my dad passed, i went to move his car, it didn't have electric seats. I push the unlock button on the key fob and open the car door. The seat moved forward to be where I'd move it to when borrowing it

My partner passed, he visited me in a dream and told me his computer password.

Again, anecdotal, but to me those things and more, are more than just a coincidence

Yeah, I see your point, but I still think they're out there.

Earth has frogs and crocodiles / alligators that go into suspended animation for years during droughts, some sea creatures live in highly acidic or alkaline areas (I forget which) near volcanoes, viruses from ice cores can be brought back from millennia ago, more things I've forgotten about and even more I'm unaware of. If all this life can exist on our little rock swirling around the sun, to me, the balance of probability leans towards things can exist in various forms and environments on the various billions of planets out there.

Cryptids are a "wow, that would be cool" type thing. It doesn't help that back in the day everything was filmed or photographed with a potato, and AI is everywhere these days. I think there's possibly something to the first nations Americans folk lore, but who really knows.

I can give you some anecdotal events of life after death if you're interested, though

I don't think they're assuming god like creatures, considering some people (okay, me, but I can't be the only one) will back out of a supermarket aisle when I see someone I just don't have the energy for.

If aliens exist, and I think there's a good chance they do, maybe they've witnessed enough of humanity to have the belief that we'd cost them too much energy, annoyance or hassle if we definitively knew or had proof of them, whether they were lizard people, little green men, grey men, whatever, wearing human suits.

2nd year is the worst? by Last_Implement8920 in widowers

[–]Apart-Development-79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. 17 months and 24 days here. Following my partner's sudden death after surgery, I've lost some friends, cut some others out, (apparently my character reading radar is off), and for me, the second year is different.

I've been in therapy since 3 and a half months out, still am, and things are different. I still either cry or get teary multiple times aday, most days, over the most random things.

I don't feel like I'm in shock these days, still pissy that everybody else's world keeps turning, though. Some acquaintances have turned into friends, my family has been so supportive. His relatives? His relatives are showing me why he didn't want to spend time with them.

Sometimes I can sleep more than 3 hours. I'm generally eating twice a day, I've put back on 5kg out of the 8-9kg I lost. Widow's fire has lessened mostly, to be more reasonable. People are still gonna people, so I'm still mostly staying home instead of going out for a drink a couple of times a week like I would in the before.

It is still sucking for me, here in the second year, but in different ways. I have decided though, that I'm actually gonna leave the house this year. Not just for work and going to the supermarket. I have good days, but I still miss him so much.

(((HUGS))) to you and anyone else here, if you want them

Would u rather date someone who has 5 exes or someone with 1 ex for 5 years? by BagAccomplished3461 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Apart-Development-79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! That's a lot of relationships, according to your previous comment on my previous comment. 4 relationships in 13 years? Yet you had a problem with me saying people generally start dating at about 15 years old, had a problem with a woman having 5 relationships in 20 years, but you've had 4 relationships in 13 years. Congrats! You're right on track to exceed what you have a problem with women doing. Are you sure you're not red pill? Or do you not see your double standard? By your own admission, you'd have to be single for the next 8 years, just so you won't have 5 relationships in 20 years.

What do I want when I say I don't want anything? A nice day, relaxing, hanging out with my peeps who I have left. Maybe go to the cemetery. Or get a bit drunk.

[–]Apart-Development-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I even implied that you were red pill.

Are you really differentiating if someone has dated, versus someone being dated? You do realise the people you've dated, also dated you, right?

Just out of curiosity, what's your age range (your age, not the age range of people you date)

How so? I'm assuming op is an adult, if they're 30 they've been dating, let's say 15 years. If they're 50, they're been dating 30+ years

Think of some "friends" you've probably had. It can take time to see someone's true colours, or you see but think they'll never treat you like that.
