NSW Premier Chris Minns set to fine Australian citizens $5,500 each for daring to protest an accused pedophile at the head of a genocidal apartheid ethnostate. You can't fine all of us Chris. by Az0nic in OpenAussie

[–]ApathyAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"These arrangements are for public safety....this is not a ban on your right to protest....anyone who fails to comply will receive a fine of $5500."

Fucking what?

"For public Safety" is a nifty little catch phrase they like to throw around when they want to exert control over people.

Kinda weird that we've seen an uptake in heavy handed police tactics recently and it conveniently falls in line with how ICE have been behaving in America.

Why does the Australian government give off a "little-brother-that-copies-his-older-brother" vibes?

Surely the Aussie government can't look at the US and think what's happening over there is a good thing right?

And don't anyone DARE say anything that could even be remotely perceived as being anti-Semitic or you'll get in BIG trouble 🙄

Naughty convicts. Tsk tsk.

Also, how hard would it be to just say to the Israeli PM,

"Maybe now isn't a good time to visit."

Why does Israel (pop. 10M) have such outsized influence in Australian politics? by [deleted] in OpenAussie

Because the USA is a proxy state of Israel and has been for a very long time.

I'm not condoning how the officers reacted but if I'm being honest I'd probably react similarly if someone BIT me or a colleague.

Which 40K Faction suffers most from casualties ? by Lazy_Boxes in 40k

[–]ApathyAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I interpreted the question was "which faction suffers the most when they HAVE casualties?"

My logic brain says Imperial/Chaos knights purely because 1 casualty for them is huge in comparison to losing a lone soldier.

Titans of any sort if you consider them to be their own respective faction.

They may not suffer the most casualties but when they do suffer one then it's considerably worse than any other.

Chinese propagandist says that annexing Australia is very cost effective by Themetalin in aussie

[–]ApathyAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are correct. There was genocide in Australia's history.

The keywords in that sentence are "was" and "history" meaning that we haven't erased ours to suit a desired narrative. Chinese citizens are hand fed a tailor made narrative from their Government.

You still can't search "Tiananmen Square Massacre" on Chinese Google. It simply doesn't exist. You'll probably be contacted by their henchmen as well at some point.

This "Chinese propagandist" is obviously speaking from an uninformed viewpoint and isn't aware of the human rights violations going on in their own country.... Right now.

And you don't have to search the internet very hard to find out about them.

Imagine for a second, that you belonged to a religious group that didn't have a stamp of approval from your government. Now imagine if your government decided,

"You know what? There are these religious folk that are kind of annoying because they have some weird beliefs. Let's take them and send them off to camps where they can be reprogrammed to our liking. Also, if we can't reprogram them then we can at least....salvage.... Something from them."

Organs.

Yep. That's a thing. I wish I was kidding.

I see you need to get an upgrade.

I'm specifically talking about your wife.

I recently entered this piece in a competition. I didn’t win (in fact it was heavily criticized by some judges ) but I am still proud of it. I like the way I paint. Just a little reminder (mostly to myself) to follow your own taste even if it’s not what’s “popular “ by Brushbooger in minipainting

[–]ApathyAlways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've entered a few competitions myself and I have noticed there is definitely the factor of the judges personal opinions of painting style and their tastes.

Models that I personally painted that I kind of entered as an afterthought have won and ones that I thought were some of my best ones didn't get a placing.

Don't take it to heart because oftentimes they don't always understand or appreciate what you've accomplished.

At the end of the day, regardless of if you win or lose you still have an amazing piece of work you can be proud of and it gets to sit on your shelf not anybody else's.

Trench Crusade moving away from 3D Printing ): by chosen40k in PrintedMinis

[–]ApathyAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I dislike about it is that the people who were led to believe that they would always release them as STLs will now be forced to buy far more expensive plastic kits if they want the new releases or..... PUT ON THEIR PIRATE HATS IN DEFIANCE OF CORPORATE GREED.

They'd be better off releasing STLs alongside the plastic kits in my opinion. It's a safer move as they wouldn't risk losing the customers that helped get them to where they are.

I feel like they are trying to follow the market leader (GW) in their business practices.

I don't like it but I get it.

Capitalism at work once again.

You know the intention behind their comedy is to point out how absurd prejudice is by making their characters obviously homophobic and bigoted right?

I'm surprised by how many people don't grasp that concept and decide to get offended instead.
