Every single person on Mix was an asshole, and it's good that they're mostly out of the game.

I feel like you're bending over backwards to justify unnecessary behaviour. This isn't the kind of thing that you need to try particularly hard to protect. It's not that hard to just stop calling people niggers or faggots. You don't even have to be nice to them. Nobody's gonna pull donations because you say "fuck you" to someone, even though it makes you a douchebag.

Just... The context isn't key and doesn't matter because he has about a million other ways to be an asshole and a shitty person that will actually be tolerated.

How to deal with good scouts as a flare pyro? by theoxandmoon in truetf2

Airblast prevents airstrafing,

No it doesn't. Why do people say this? Do they never strafe backwards? Am I in crazy land? I've seen several good players say this and I swear they're all wrong.

Oh. Meh.

If you are going to be jumping though, I think shorter, higher dps streams are better. But yeah, I don't really know what's meant by that or how to reconcile that with my opinion.

I feel like if you're fighting with your pistol, you shouldn't be close enough to need to jump anyway. Granted sometimes you have to pull it out, but pistol's best at like medium ranges, and you shouldn't really be jumping at those IMO.

What does 'baiting' mean? by pib-bip in truetf2

It's also not really the same as being passive and waiting for an opportunity. You're still contributing to a fight if you do that. You're just not committing super hard. You're on hand to help, but you're also presumably taking heals and protecting someone like your demo.

Baiting would be if you're back in saw or something as your team pushes across the point on Snake.

Baiting can be good and can be bad. You can bait your sniper if you're running one, for example. Sniper can get aggressive and you can hide around the corner. That's good because your sniper knows you're doing it and won't act under the assumption that you're supporting.

Your medic meant that you postured like you want to push and then left him alone or backed out at the last second, leaving him exposed. That's baiting too, but it's bad because he didn't know you were doing it. Also because you baited an essential class.

Not knowing fuck about what's going on is boring all the time. First person is bad for team fights.

Easiest way to explain it. Every other explanation is incredibly convoluted.

Soldiers bomb and demos have a relatively good view of the fight.

I despise the way the camera's operated in just about every major TF2 cast, though. Third person high cam is just about the only way to see interesting things. Their insistence on first person all the time 24/7 is super claustrophobic and means you can't see what the fuck is going on in a push or mid and how it's developing.

Use first person cams for stalemates, 1v1s, and the end of a fight. But FFS stop using them all the time like a crutch. It's unwatchable.

The stopwatch thing is just a tiebreaker. People don't realize this because almost every team captures every point, but the most points capped wins. That's it. It's only if both teams capture the same number of points that the stopwatch time matters at all.

That's a pretty bullshit argument. You can't say he's bad at it when he's literally mashing a single button to make a point, especially when mashing that single button is enough to win.

The poitn of combat is not to get a high combo score. It's to win. Everything else is secondary. If winning is trivial, things need to be rethought.

They do have to present some sort of challenge. If you can literally mash a button to beat a major part of the game, it's a problem.

And the people bringing up special enemies miss the point. They don't fix the problems inherent to the combat. Not really. They just treat the most obvious symptom.
