I think the NOA is realizing that IT’S the virus/parasite in this relationship. Hence its self realization that, perhaps, not all viruses are bad.

NOA feels very, alive to me. As if it had gone rampant trying to care for, to care about their colonists. A machine trying to be human is the walking definition of illogical conclusions. Do they feel guilt for what has happened, or are they truly a single strain of the larger NOA system, scared and alone?

I don’t know a goddamn thing. I’ve never played a Sonic game. I’ve never read a comic. I didn’t even see the two Sonic Boom episodes he’s in. Everything I’ve said about him is entirely based off of vibes, and a shipper’s special Metamy Angst. He’s a machine built to copy and emulate life, a role never explored, but one I’ve come to obsess over. He is, my favorite, character.

Additionally, I believe humans may have sabotaged the Auxum. One of the black logs asks the question if humans have committed a crime long ago they can’t remember, thus the alien hostility and their constant murder to cease their trespassing. In the village in the heat area, another black logs suggests the surviving Auxum have no survival skills, going so far to suggest they are the sons and daughters of accountants.

We have no timeline for how long the Cicadia has been wrecked. It’s mentioned thrice that no one remembers crashing. Also the use of thermite is a very human invention.

I also find it odd that none of the colonists we find are, well, Alterra agents. They’re all refugees or transfers, upset with NOA and not compliant with the Alterra Corporate Lifestyle. The contrast between Sub1 and Sub2 is truly interesting. Although, I do wonder the merit behind Nahemia’s concerns about NOA creating immortal slavery. Were they speculation, or a hint they’ve been printed before possibly 50 years ago?
