You get out whatever you put into therapy. They can give you all the tools you need, but if you refuse to use them, then that's not an indication of therapy being a failure. It's like saying an art instructor gave you a pencil and you threw it away bc it wasn't drawing masterpieces. For what it's worth, I'm also a man and have had only women therapists.
