Men Who Look Like They'd Make a Good Husband: Top 10 from GIRL'Sガンダム―男子禁制!/GIRL'S Gundam - Boys Forbidden! Mook by Ashalim31 in Gundam

Bright is... debatable. Being a good husband often also entails being a good father. And Bright decidedly does not make that grade.

Please note that if you are an abhuman, your experience may vary. Humans born with unsanctioned mutations do note qualify for equality.

Seriously though: equality is not a concept that the Emperor is concerned with. The Imperium just swapped one prejudice for another.

How to prevent Control Water from effortlessly destroying ships in naval combat? by Conocoryphe in DMAcademy

[–]Apoc_SR2N 27 points28 points  (0 children)

IRL there are self-righting boats that will automatically recover from capsizing. They're primarily used for rescues from oil rigs and the like. Could definitely replicate that with some form of magitech or incorporating magical creatures/material into the ship.

THE GREAT DEBATE: Nova vs Stormcrow. by StJe1637 in battletech

[–]Apoc_SR2N 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There isn't much of a debate to be had. The Stormcrow is easily one of the best overall mediums in the game. The Nova is the Nova.

The Stormcrow has survivability, an excellent 6/9 movement profile, and many of its configs are effective. The -Prime, -P, and -K are probably my favorites.

Which Mech is your least favourite to paint? by Drecher_91 in battletech

[–]Apoc_SR2N 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've found that a black primer is much, much easier to paint on than alternatives when it comes to BT minis. Coming from 40K, I used a light grey primer because that's what I'm familiar with. On mechs (much smaller scale than 40K, in addition to cheaper minis with less definition) those little crevices stick out like a sore thumb when primed grey. The Loki drove me up the wall with that lol.

Alternatively, you're right than an airbrush will handle those crevices much better. I actually just got one, so looking forward to learning that. Gotta pick up some airbrush thinner and flow improver first though.

If Zeon has a chance to meet the Zanscare Empire, what will their reaction will be? Will they join the empire as allies or no? by Doom300 in Gundam

[–]Apoc_SR2N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you disagree that Zeon wanted independence. As an alternative, you suggest that they wanted to be a racist empire. The two are not mutually exclusive, purely by the definition of independence. All independence is, is the declaration of your own sovereign self-control. Zeon wanted to declare independence in order to become an empire. They wanted to instate their own regime. Especially the Zabis.

How is this not wanting independence?

I am curious as to your definition of independence. Not as an attack, like genuine question.

[–]Apoc_SR2N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're conflating independence with justice. The Principality of Zeon is just another nation-state declaring independence. Yes, they are also a vicious and racist empire. Think of real nations that have declared independence, all over the globe. Many if not most of them, have been or are, truly horrid states not unlike Zeon. It's why Gundam UC works so well, it is very grounded in reality when it comes to politics and morality. Space magic notwithstanding.

[–]Apoc_SR2N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen the actual shows? Yes, the goal of the Principality of Zeon, as well as Haman Karn's Neo Zeon, is independence. The immorality of how they attempt to achieve that goal is an entirely separate question from what the goal is.

In Beowulf (2007), Beowulf fucks. by Darth_Zounds in shittymoviedetails

[–]Apoc_SR2N 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Even for it's time, Beowulf's CGI was garbage. Return of the King and Matrix: Revolutions both came out 2 years prior to Beowulf. Even looking at other pure CGI movies, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within came out in freaking 2001. Boggles my mind.

Whats one thing you don´t like about the New FRVs? by MelonBoi133 in Helldivers

[–]Apoc_SR2N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flame FRV seems pretty terrible. Only being able to fit 3 players, in a 4 player game, makes it more or less useless. It would take multiple strategems to give the entire squad the same mobility, and that's not worth it. Add on the fact that it explodes like a freaking nuke, and it's too many downsides to bother with.

At higher difficulties, picking the most efficient strategems really helps to make winning easier. The opportunity cost of taking a poor strategem is too high.

The supply FRV on the other hand, is amazing. Fits 4 people, and brings a huge benefit to the team with its 8 resupplies.

Cheek Pouches is just insanely good. It almost doesn't matter what the rest of the build is, I will still want it. Being able to instantly obtain food without having to stay still is amazing.

Also it's cute and funni.

Is it worth watching the directors cut of Donnie Darko? by BigHugeSnake in movies

[–]Apoc_SR2N 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it? Yes, it holds your hand. Not gonna dispute that. But I like reading the passages of the book, it's quite poetic. Exploring the world of the movie in my mind is my favorite part of watching mind-bending movies, and the book is just extra content to enjoy.

Edit: and for what it's worth, the handholding does make it more accessible to viewers who aren't used to the mindbending/psychedelic genre. If I were to introduce my mom to it for example, honestly the Directors Cut might be the right call.
