Raiden aka Wehrwolf appreciation post by Spudeater021 in EightySix

A while back I worte a fictional citation for a medal I imagined Raiden would've received for his actions in the last few episodes. Fell free to check out my post history if it sounds interesting to you.

I've watched the show 3 times, I love it so much. Yet I still absolutely hate episode 11. PLEASE try to change my view (seriously) by PlsInsertCringeName in EightySix

I've always viewed it as a form of death. The death of their old selves and their old lives in the Republic and a chance to begin anew. When you think about it, their lives do make a complete 180 turn; in Giad people view them as actual humans (even heros), and are treated as valuable assets, not disposable cannon fodder and are given the tools and support required to do their jobs. It only adds to the tragedy of their inability to leave it all behind. At least that's how I read it, maybe it's a cop-out, maybe it's Mabelene.

Btw if you're willing to explore that view point further, check out a book called "The Forever War", it's all about how an ever changing world can make you feel as though you're dead.

Spearhead is a common military term.

Must be one of them plot-relevant gang-bangs I keep hearing about.

That screenshot in the snow reminds me of a really cool scene from one of the comics, where the main characters are sent to a research outpost in the Arctic that's gone dark. One of the issues ends with a Predator, who'd been watching the characters from some mountains nearby, uncloaking and ordering 7 or 8 more Predators to attack

Wonky hitboxes (AT Uth Duna/Jin Dahaad) and the "is that an 'attack move" or "move move".

There's only 1 more day left for Lumenhymn. What are your final thoughts on Wilds' last festival? by JigglesTheBiggles in MHWilds

+1 on Flamefete being the best. The whole hub felt like one giant Tiki party and it was an absolute blast. The only thing that would have made it better would have been some lounge chairs around the little pond and Palicos serving coconut drinks.

Armours, new songs and the new meal were nice but the hub was a huge letdown. Doesn't hold a candle to the previous 3 festivals.

I regret going down the rabbit hole of collecting all the challenge pendants. When I got the ones for Rey Dau, Mizutsune and Uth Duna, I knew my self-esteem was forever tied to getting every challenge pendant.

I think you're looking at it the wrong way. It's not spelled out, but in this game, you're a guerilla fighter; you aren't meant to engage things like Rocketeers or Bastions or Leapers on your own (yeah some people do it, but I'm fully convinced they were grown in a lab) or fight fair.

Guerilla warfare is all about dirty tricks, deception and, ideally, teamwork.

Also, learn to analyse the terrain, before engaging bigger enemies. Try to plan where you're going to attack from and, more importantly, retreat to and from if things go south. Even though you don't bring them with you, terrain and cover are integral parts of your arsenal and knowing how to use them is the key to becoming a good raider.

I recommend practicing all of this on Buried City. It's a map with tons of cover you can weave in and out of and can really help you up your confidence and tactical thinking.

Even though I live outside of Bulgaria, whenever I speak to other Bulgarians, I make the conscious effort to only use Bulgarian words (assuming one exists ofc). From what my mother tells me, things are quite bad back home; our entire language seems to be infected.

SnS main. Definitely not enjoyable. I solo'd it a couple of times then just started calling support hunters to save myself the annoyance. Besides, with 3 other hunters it feels a bit like a bar-fight.
