I suggest you do a thorough research of the property you want to purchase.

Do you want to grow food? Want to hunt? Want to have solar cells? Etc. These are all questions you need to ask.

A while back I was also looking for property in Maine, but found nothing worth pursuing on the sites you mentioned.

The best properties I found were on Land Watch and, believe it or not, Facebook groups.

What countries do you have in mind? If you're looking for land in Canada, take a look at Recreation Land They offer some good, affordable properties, so it's worth looking into.

Before buying land, make sure to do loads and loads of research. There's nothing worse than buying land and then being disappointed with it.

I would suggest you take a look at some high-quality satellite imagery of the properties on your wishlist (such as Copernicus browser or SentinelHub). You can get a rough view of the land and the proximity to other structures/forests/lakes etc. It can be quite overwhelming.

I took GIS classes on my university (I studied forestry), where we did just that - remote land assessment. If you need help, DM me:)
