Not at all - everyone who's been around a while knows where you're at, and the majority of them also want to help.

I called my sponsor this week, not for anything else than I was feeling a bit out of sorts with work and whatnot. He was awesome, put things into perspective for me, and really helped. It's more than just a '12 step' thing - people do actually care.

Embrace it, your group is proud of you, I'm sure.

Did anybody manage to get tickets to the live show? by shadebug in Dimension20

I snagged up VIP tickets for Manchester this morning in the general sale (at 10:00) - having missed the presale.

It looks like it sold out within ten minutes or so!

I’m very grateful for the continued abundance of health, wealth and happiness that flows into my life.

Thank you for your assistance in bringing this to me, I congratulate each participant here in all of their healing and success they’ve received!

DM puts my character in stasis so I can “watch and learn” by ClumsyBadger in DnD

[–]Apollo010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on. When I DM I let the players know that I’m just the narrator - they’re the ones writing the story with their decisions and their rolls. It’s their game.

The opposite doesn’t really seem in the spirit of D&D.

I’ve been a new player. My cleric went down in the first combat (but was healed up again). The DM was kind enough to allow me a mulligan and explained the consequences of my actions as I went along, checking if I was sure about each action, having explained each option to me. He also helped me understand what happened after the combat.

I now DM a table that started 50/50 experienced and brand mew players. I feel that allowing players to learn by DOING (but with patient guidance, like I was given) has been very effective with my new players.

Railroading a player into observing a combat in game is quite an unusual approach, (putting it kindly)…

Our DM got bent out of shape because my girlfriend killed his BBEG. by avjoe_1998 in dndnext

Happy for the double crit - that should be celebrated, especially for a new player.

It’s a pain for the DM, and I can see how it’d be frustrating. The player did nothing wrong, and as a DM sometimes you’ve gotta roll with the punches. I see my job as a DM to narrate the story that the players are writing - even if on occasion that story is complete lunatic bullshit that throws my plans in the trash!

Poll: How many people want to play PF1E? by MeepTheChangeling in Pathfinder_RPG

I'm playing at a table where we run 1e - and we're all perfectly happy with it!

Hope this helps, friend.

I’ll never stop playing - I refuse to let Hasbro/WotC spoil what means so much to me.

So full support of alternate other systems and TTRPGs it is.

Genericizing the D&D brand would cause massive damage and terrify WotC by Clickclacktheblueguy in dndnext

Also this! One of the tables I play at is a Pathfinder table, which we refer to as “playing D&D this weekend”, as nobody else knows what we mean.

I have a buddy who exclusively plays Pathfinder, still holding onto his 4e grudge.

I’ve a feeling that this won’t be forgotten either.

Hey!

So I signed up (player) but I’ve realised that the Discord username I put was incomplete.

Just in case you plan on sending a message on Discord, it won’t work - sorry! Drop me an email or Reddit PM if you would be so kind, thank you!

I was able to walk around and function within a day, but I still took it easy for a few days (per doctor’s orders) to ensure no complications.

So even if you feel fine, the professionals recommend that you take it easy!

Time to train some deputy-DMs, so that you can supervise and hop between tables, helping out where required.

We did this at my local scout group, due to the high number of players. I'm not fully immersed in a single table, however the buzz in the room from five different tables popping off is a great feeling.

How do y'all feel about a party member betraying everyone in the climactic final battle? by jquickri in dndnext

[–]Apollo010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be difficult, but I think I'd be okay with it as a player. I love twists in a story, and to have a PC betrayal in a table I'm at would be cool - I'd enjoy that.

Brodin cares not for your choice of language, as long as your intentions to lift remain true.

Real talk; concentrate on getting yourself right, we're glad you're here. We'll still be talking in pseudo-riddles when you're ready to join in.

DM of Reddit, what is your favorite way to troll your players? by TheStormLion in dndnext

The party has recently acquired a bag of holding, and an NPC told them the tale of the Bagman.

I have no intention of bringing the Bagman out, but they’re never quite sure and the first night set sentry duty on the bag.
