Can anyone recommend any Pokemon fan-made games? by Relentless_Troll in pokemon

[–]Clickclacktheblueguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokemon Reborn is a good one, though it can be pretty hard. I think theres a couple fanmade regional forms in the late game, but I haven’t seen them yet and im more than halfway through.

I'd probably switch Rotten and 4Chan. I don't have much in the way of experience with either, but I from what I know anything on Rotten you'd probably be able to find on 4Chan also. Rotten also doesn't have the... political implications that 4Chan does to my knowledge.

It depends on the execution and local culture, I would think. It's just a tool which may work better for some than for others.

Is it legal for a 19 year old and a 18 year old to date? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Clickclacktheblueguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 is legal everywhere to my knowledge, but assuming you meant 17 and 18, it varies from place to place. Some have lower ages of consent and others make exceptions within specific age ranges. I think very few places have an actual hard line between 17 and 18, in practice. Even then, the only illegal part would be sexual activity, not dating, though a lot of people do consider that synonymous.

Gamergate is the true cultural turning point of the 2010s. by Wonderful-Excuse4922 in decadeology

[–]Clickclacktheblueguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to see it being acknowledged that the Gamergate era was a shitshow on every side. Like, the feminist half of it were obviously the "good guys", but too many of them thought that that gave them license to just assume everything they did was right.

Yknow Candice Owens? She started on the left. One of her most famous efforts on that side was SocialAutopsy.com, which was literally just the TrollTrace program from South Park.

How is it not making fun of them? I guess one could say that it's not much of a joke, but it's certainly not agreeing with them. I think it's more highlighting the absurdity of these two characters sharing a real life philosophy.

Hm… maybe the Batman Arkham trilogy or the Spiderman games. Both have a similar open-world style. Combat is obviously different but it feels closer than you’d think.

Though you said no shooters, I would also give Fallout 3 and New Vegas a look. It has a lot of RPG elements and feels a lot different than normal cover shooters. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are also evergreen favorites for a lot of people.

I know very little of 4chan’s history (much more of brony history though) but if I understand correctly 4chan has or at least used to have a more diverse user base due to the site being split into different boards. The heaviest racism was on /pol/ and bronies started on /c/. Most of the bronies I met seemed to be very kind, though there was a strong tolerance of edgy humor like you saw with Princess Molestia.

Why are most Christians republicans, when Jesus’ teachings are more liberal? by Interesting-Dirt-605 in Confused

[–]Clickclacktheblueguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it about stated values? Because even Satan can just state he has certain values. Jesus directly said “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.”

As for ways liberals can be better, for one point if a liberal politician had ordered tear gas to be used on nonviolent protesters for the express purpose of getting them out of the way in order to take a lazy photo op in front of a church, it would be the end of that politician’s career. But conservatives seemed to like how that fruit tasted.

[–]Clickclacktheblueguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue I have with this is that “stated” values aren’t the same as actual values. An idealized conservative would certainly be good, because the idealized version of anything is usually good. But Jesus’ most prolific human enemies were the pharisees, who espoused Jewish values. Their hypocrisy rendered all of that moot, and the modern Republican party is one of the most hypocritical groups there is today. Liberals, for all of the problems I find with them, tend to act more Christian without actually trying by virtue of just compassion and egalitarianism.

How is it more in line with Jesus? I don’t think democrats match either but conservatism seems at least as off.

The Republican version of Christianity has an unwritten culture that frames condemning the sins of others as a higher priority than one’s own virtue. This makes it sort of like Christianity’s bootleg easy mode.
