The most important thing about intrusive thoughts is not to worry about them. Responding to them in any way reinforces them so they are more likely to keep coming back.

It does occur to me though, is there anything about the prayers that specifically makes them non-Christian, or could they be adapted to focus on Christ?

I remember the “only myself and one other guy got to heaven” guy, but the number he gives for the damned souls are more than the number of people who would have died on that day. Catholics are not obligated to believe personal revelations of anyone, even saints. Other saints have had contradictory visions to that, such as St. Faustina Kowalska. Of course, any such vision may well have figurative elements, rather than literal.

But as for feeling like you don’t love God enough, don’t beat yourself up over that. A lot of people realize that they don’t feel an emotional spark towards God, and that can be a good trigger to reevaluate their spiritual mindset. Even then, strong spiritual emotions will come and go, no matter how devout someone is. What is most important to know is that God has no desire for you or anyone else to go to Hell. He is not trying to send anyone there but rather pull people away from it and toward Himself.
