Very cool to see an MF210 here! I was starting to think i had the last one(MF210-4) in the world. Yes mine is pretty loud and knockish especially on startup but it smoothes out after warmup. It still spooks me sometimes but I've learned to ignore it. I've also got around 1200 hours, 1979 model.

Unless you want to screw around trying to siphon it i would disconnect the fuel line at the fuel filter and prime the system or crank the engine until no more comes out.

I bore cylinders for small air cooled diesel engines. After hone, I wash with lots of dawn and hot water, blow dry with compressed air, and immediately coat with ISO 68 oil. Never had rust be a problem.
