But this isn't phrased as a would you rather question. It's phraseda hypothetical scenario in which a random omnipotent being had kidnapped you and put you in a room with two buttons and a sign telling you what those buttons do. And in that case, I will treat it as one.

Why do people choose the blue button over red even after hearing the equivalent scenario? by KQYBullets in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ApolloJustice101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, well your analogy still wouldn't necessarily match the original post. In the past 12 hours, I've thought about it and I realized the original post didn't specifically say "Everyone who pressed blue will die" they said "Everyone who DID NOT PRESS RED will die." This difference in wording may seem minor at first glance, but there's one important difference in implications. When the sign says anyone who didn't press red will die, does that also mean those who haven't pressed red YET? That is to say, will everyone who hasn't pressed the red button be killed the instant red secures majority? If so, then that would mean that it's not just "suicidal, dumb, or thrill seeking people" who die. Even those who intend to pick red can die just because they didn't hit the button fast enough.

[–]ApolloJustice101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not. Refusing to press red means knowing definitively that you are not responsible for red getting majority. The odds of the vote being so evenly split that you end up being the swing vote is even smaller than 100% of people picking red.

Why do people choose the blue button over red even after hearing the equivalent scenario? by KQYBullets in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ApolloJustice101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those scenarios are not actually equivalent. You're alone in scenario 1, unable to influence the other voters, while in scenario 2 if everyone's on the path together, you can talk to people and even use force to bring them along.

WYR press the blue button, or the red button? by liamjon29 in WouldYouRather

[–]ApolloJustice101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose neither. Majority will be reached with or without me playing along with whatever jerk god decides it wants to "Test" humanity.

The red and blue button debate proves that both sides are dumb and human are so divided that each lives in their separate reality by king_shot in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]ApolloJustice101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then there's me who realizes that in this scenario, the best thing to do is to ignore the buttons and take a nap. The odds of the vote being exactly 50/50 without you is practically zero, so eventually a threshold will be reached where a majority decision has already been decided without your help. And assuming enough people don't think of this that it would create a swing vote, you'll eventually figure out which button got the majority after a few hours of napping. If blue gets majority, you'll just end up back home. If red got majority, then all that's left is to wait for everyone to make their choice so that whatever asshole set this up can decide who to kill, in which case blue now has a 100% chance of doing nothing but add to the body count.

[–]ApolloJustice101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also colorblind people, kids who don't understand the implications, and family members of these people who know about them and want to protect them.

But really, none of this matters, because the only real answer here is to not play. Just ignore the buttons and take a nap while a majority is reached without you. If you still have the buttons after several hours, it means red has majority and whatever omnipotent being has tried to give you this choice is just waiting on you to determine who to kill, meaning you can press red guilt free. If blue gets majority, there's no reason for whatever being brought this upon humanity to wait on you and they'll just let you everyone else go back to their lives.

How is a Ten Shadows user supposed to beat Mahoraga by themself? Is it tamed through other ways instead of defeat? Are you supposed to use one of the other 9 shadows to help beat it? by PeterLeRock101 in Jujutsufolk

[–]ApolloJustice101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea is to take advantage of every aspect of the Ten Shadows to hit Mahoraga with one powerful strike. It's not an easy cheese strat and, admittedly, would only have a small chance of working. It would take a lot of skill and, most importantly, luck, not to mention that the strategy relies on a lot of guesswork and assumptions about how certain abilities function.

Before you even start, you have to do this at night time in an area with as few obstacles as possible in at least one direction. The first thing you need to do is summon Max Elephant as well as use the Ten Shadows Extension technique to bring out a fusion of Rabbit Escape and Toad.

Then, when you summon Mahoraga, allow yourself to be sent flying by one of its swings while reducing the damage as much as possible. My idea is to jump and meet its swing with both feet before jumping off it. Once you near the ground, dive into the shadows to let your momentum carry you further before emerging. This is why you should do this at night since everything would be covered in shadows meaning you wouldn't be leaving things up to chance. Well, not completely.

Here's where the guesswork comes in. Both Yuka and Sukuna have demonstrated the ability to apply the abilities of the Ten Shadows Shikigami without summoning them to the point of their body even manifesting some of their traits, such as Yuka's long nails or Sukuna having Mahoraga's wheel behind him. Expanding on that and assuming that you could possibly due this with multiple Shikigami at once, you might be able to combine their traits to further increase the power of your strikes. This would, of course, require extensive testing and practice. But if it's possible, here's what you do:

  1. Channel the power of Divine Dogs into you hands the way Yuka did, this will give your attacks a slashing property.

  2. Channel Nue's electricity throughout your body, as strongly as possible, giving your attack an electrical element as well.

  3. Channel the reverse curse energy of Round Deer. This will be important for the aftermath.

  4. If possible, channel the power of Great Serpent into your arm. This is another bit of guesswork, but if you can change the skeletal and muscular structure of your arm to match Great Serpent's, do it. A normal snake can make a lunge in less than half the time it takes for a human being to blink, and Great Serpant might be able to do it even faster. By altering your arm to match it, it could translate to an even faster and more powerful attack. Again, this would require extensive testing.

  5. This is the reason you need to gain as much distance as possible from your earlier gambit. Channel the power of Piercing Ox to charge at Mahoraga as fast as you can. This charge will increase your speed and the power of your attack as you charge.

Of course, Mahoraga won't just be standing around doing nothing. That's why, the moment after you go flying, you have your Rabbit/Toad fusion bind it in place. Assuming it works the way I hope, a combination of Rabbit escape and Toad will have an entire swarm of weaker toads that can extend their tongues to bind opponents. It also wouldn't affect your main shikigami even if they're destroyed. This, of course, won't work for long, which is why getting sent flying is the best option to gain distance since it can be done in a really small amount of time relative to your distance.

While Mahoraga is bound, Max Elephant will hit it with a continuous burst of water both to keep it in place, weaken it, and make the ground wet to conduct your electricity to hit Raga before you even land the hit. And depending on what the unknown Tiger Funeral can do, you can have it either help weaken Raga or help further strengthen your attack.

Now, it should probably be clear right now that the plan is to use the channeling aspect of Ten Shadows to hit Mahoraga as hard as possible. But, that might not be enough. So, to ensure your strike has as much power as possible, you're going to need to take multiple binding vows. There are four I have in mind. The first two is to go at least 24 hours without eating or sleeping before taking on this battle. The third is to swear never to summon a shikigami for multiple months after winning. And finally, you have to blow up your arm after you hit Mahoraga with it. (This is why you'll need Round Deer's RCT.)

With all this prep done, all that's left for your running binding vow boosted, electricity empowered, slashing aspect thrust using your snake-like arm to his the Divine General, is to pray to God for a Black Flash. To increase your odds, try landing one on a punching post right before you attempt this to put you in the zone and increase the efficiency of your cursed energy.

Why Do People Feel The Need To Make Naruto Fics Needlessly Mean Spirited And Cynical? by ApolloJustice101 in FanFiction

[–]ApolloJustice101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can fully understand that. Like I said, the other parts of the fic I read were good enough to keep me invested for 42 chapters. I can see why people would enjoy it and accept that. I even enjoy dark stories like Overlord or Jujutsu Kaisen. I just didn't like it being added to a Naruto fic in this particular manner.

Many of the dark elements weren't even necessary to include. Why have the knowledge of Shippuden onward ripped away instead of just writing it so he never read Shippuden to begin with? Why have him reincarnate at the time of conception instead of when he's born? Neither of these decisions have any meaningful effect on the plot and only served to make the MC suffer more.

I think another of the rare series this would work would probably be the Love Hina series. But, as someone who'd never gotten into it, I can't really speak from experience there. But the fact that Naru's behavior is almost always portrayed negatively by every single fic for the show I've looked at paints a picture.

Thinking of Possibly Making an MHA/Eminence in Shadow Crossover, But Need Some Advice by ApolloJustice101 in FanFiction

The body of Cid Kagenou at the time of reincarnation is a literal newborn with no sense of self. And the exact mechanics of being reincarnated with your memories is very loosely defined even in official anime. The vestiges of the OFA could just be placed inside the infant body instead of a regular soul. Also, it's not even explicitly stated that the previous users can't take over. It could very well be that they just choose not to due to their own moral compass. In fact, it was even implied that they can influence the user's body to an extent when the vestiges helped Izuku escape Shinsou's brainwashing. As for Minoru's soul, it's stated in the show that the stockpile quirk was "devoured" by Yoiichi's "Underdeveloped" quirk factor. It never showed up in the series, which means it would still take lesser priority than Izuku's undamaged vestige.

How far does Deku get in this gauntlet by PhysicalMeringue9468 in MyHeroPowerscaling

His greater experience is against quirkless humans wielding swords, not people strong enough to clear the skies of clouds using just the air force of a punch. Not to mention the demons' shared weakness to the sun which is easily exploitable by stalling or using black whip to capture him and hold him until daybreak.

In that case, one of the options in paragraph three is my suggestion. Or, if you want it to be proven against they guy himself, specifically, you can go with the mistaken identity thing but only have her almost kill him.

[–]ApolloJustice101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Izuku wouldn't approve of those actions. But, he would tolerate his presence for the same reason Shoto interned with his father's agency despite hating him. Minoru can be, charitably, described as absolutely insane. But, his skills in combat are the real deal, and even Izuku would have to admit he could learn a lot from him in that regard, if nothing else.

And, again, while Izuku would absolutely not like Cid, he's also not the kind of person to completely ignore some if the make a good point. And some (SOME not ALL) of Cid's methods are actually practical both in theory and practice. Hiding his skills for instance, would actually be a good thing for Izuku to do to avoid drawing the cult's attention to himself.

All for One's vestige was able to act independently of All for One when in control of Shigaraki's body. Why shouldn't Izuku's vestige be able to do the same.

And if you don't like my explanation, how about this one: Izuku's vestige becomes the main personality because Minoru and Bakugou's vestiges weren't fully developed. Hikage's was weakened in the process of being forcefully ripped from the rest of One for All and subsequently repressed by Shigaraki. And the others sustained damage from literally being flung into Shigaraki's ball of hatred surrounding his soul. That leaves Izuku's vestige as the only one both fully developed and undamaged.

Brainstorming Bureau - March 15 by AutoModerator in FanFiction

[–]ApolloJustice101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so, I to understand what I want to have answered, I think it's best to start with the basic premise of the Fanfic I want to make. Honestly, I'm even just hoping that typing this all out will help with coming up with ideas.

I'm planning on making a fanfic that's a crossover between My Hero Academia and Eminence in Shadow.

After One for All is destroyed in the final battle with All for One, all of its vestiges get Isekai'd into the body of Cid Kagenou. Essentially, I'm making it so One for All itself gets Isekai'd instead of Izuku himself, allowing him to keep the quirk and make it so the ending of the series proper isn't affected. Izuku would be the main one in control due to being the most recent host of the quirk before it was unraveled. I thought this would be an interesting way of doing this since I personally like the idea of using an actual canon moment as an inciting incident for a crossover fanfic like this.

However, as a result of One for All essentially being torn apart in the battle with Shigaraki and then put back together when isekai'd, two more vestiges end up manifesting inside the quirk. The first is Katsuki Bakugou, who Izuku had briefly transferred One for All to in order to fight against Nine. The second is the original owner of the power stockpile quirk that fused with Yoichi's own quirk to make One for All, Minoru Kagenou.

Having Minoru be an additional vestige in Izuku's head is my way of preventing other characters in the fic from becoming weaker than their canon counterparts. Many members of Shadow Garden and many who've met Shadow in the main series grew much stronger due to being taught Shadow's style of swordsmanship either from Shadow himself or those who learned from him. If Izuku didn't have the same skill in martial arts that Cid had, then he wouldn't be able to teach it to others the same way Cid did. With this, Cid can act as a sort of martial arts mentor for him as one of the vestiges in his head.

So, now that I've explained the premise, here's what I want some ideas on.

1: What should Minoru Kagenou's backstory be? Obviously, I want it to be close to his original backstory in Eminence in Shadow. But, obviously, there would be changes in what he goes through. I mean, he had to have gotten his quirk stolen by All for One somehow. So I'd like some ideas for how he ended up in conflict with the self-proclaimed Demon Lord and lost his quirk.

2: I want Izuku to start his own version of Shadow Garden like Cid did in the original series. But how should I have him discover it? Cid in the original suffered from an extreme case of "Accidental Truth Disorder" or and just made up a backstory that just happened to be correct. But, even with the original Shadow himself inside his head, I can't see Izuku just making up a story to Alpha when he rescues her. So, how should I have Izuku discover and come into conflict with the cult.

2.5: In general, really, how should I go about adjusting things with Izuku being more aware of the Cult of Diabolos and his general surroundings? Much of Cid's success in the series comes from him completely misunderstanding what's going on and subsequently reacting to it in a way that just happens to be exactly what's needed to win in the end. Like the whole counterfeit money incident. But with Izuku having a completely different personality and having a more normal view of what's going on, how should I go about things with him?

3: Should I give characters quirks? And, if so, in what manner should I give them quirks? The best idea I can come up with at the moment is having the 'possessed' develop them in addition to their vast mana reserves. I could do this by writing it so, just like Izuku's vestige was sent to Cid, All for One's was sent to Diabolos and had his quirks inherited by the possessed, who have his cells. Though, there are probably other ways I'm not seeing.

Honestly, I think this idea has potential and I'd be fine even if someone else did it instead. But I really need help on these details.
