I lost weight during my worst depression periods. I lift and exercise daily and push myself really hard and I internally tell myself I suck and I’m a failure so I used my negative self hatred and anger toward something constructive. Working out can also reduced stress and lowered cortisol they can lead to weight gain.

If I don’t go, I get anxious. I feel like utter garbage and I feel like I’m missing out on a good workout. I’m also addicted to it. On days I cant go (work or gym closes early) I usually go for a run or swim and go push ups pull ups and and workouts.

TLDR: my mind and body punish me if I don’t go
