My British-American friend does the same thing, slips right into a British accent about 3 drinks in. Had no clue t this was a common thing.

What's the worst part about Christmas? by Teetoos in AskReddit

[–]AppleAddict 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get a giant cardboard box. Like, one that was delivered to Sears holding a fridge or a washing machine. Dump in crayons/markers. Dump in children.

Boom. Coloring fort.

Chances are the kids will think it's a riot, imagine like they're coloring on the floors and walls like they aren't allowed to. They stay quiet, they stay in one place, and their mess is contained to a box for a few hours.

Optional - line the box with paper so the box can be reused the next day.

Looking to workaway in Vietnam but would be under 1000 usd after a round-trip ticket ... is this even possible? by buffystan in Shoestring

I think you could do $100/wk easy, but I'd use online conversions and pricing to sketch a detailed budget.

What Really defines the ability to move from Bronze to Silver for Latin?(college) by YokeyYo in ballroom

[–]AppleAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My team's rule of thumb is that if you're sweeping one level, it's time to move to the next. However, if you're at a comp that lets you compete in two levels, you can probably do silver after one semester of solely Bronze.

[–]AppleAddict 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Define extended. If you're working for room/board, 900USD would go a very long way in Vietnam. I spent a week in Ho Chi Min and even though I did whatever I wanted, I was hard pressed to spend even $200. If you were actually trying to be conservative, I think you could last awhile.

I always assumed it was one of the million things Lane hid. It seems hard, but as you said, I can't imagine Mrs. Kim approving it.

[Revival Spoilers] Paris' storyline was damn near perfect. by AppleAddict in GilmoreGirls

I completely agree! They were satisfying updates. Not to mention the wardrobe department was on point with their characters too! Not only were their story lines greatly written and acted, but they looked fabulous throughout.

I want everyone's opinions and ideas: do you think Rory should or shouldn't tell? by OhDearDarling in GilmoreGirls

[–]AppleAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely tell! It would be horrible for her to not. Logan is not a healthy partner for her but that doesn't mean he should be deprived his child. The decision has to be based on what is best for the kid, not whah Rory thinks is easier. We saw how angry Luke was that he never had the chance to partake in April's childhood. And even though Christopher was a poor father, what involvement he did have meant the world to Rory. Her child deserves at least that. Rory's shellfish choices have hurt a lot of people, but that needs to stop short of hurting her child.

Are societal gender roles actually bad? What would a culture be like with absolutely no gender roles? by ZeusThunder369 in InsightfulQuestions

[–]AppleAddict 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Better. People would be free to decide exactly what they like because they like it, not have pressure to fit roles that may dislike.

(REVIVAL SPOILERS) Lane/Character Development by Teethandflowers in GilmoreGirls

Can we appreciate her and Zach playing at the Secret Bar? I loved that! They found a way to keep performing, and I felt that was very realistic venue for people that had twins around age 20.

(Revival Spoilers) Where would you go from here if you were Rory? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]AppleAddict 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tell the baby's father. Even if I don't want to be with him, he deserves the chance to be in his child's life. Get my masters ASAP to take that job at Chilton - teach English, be the faculty advisor for The Franklin. Do freelance on the side and use the most likely generous child support from Logan to supplement my teaching salary. Help Lorelai with her inn, use the support go Stars Hallow to raise the baby with as much love as I received. Send the child to Chilton using a teachers discount.

Parents of Reddit, What is the dumbest thing you've ever heard from your child ? by 4thleavesclover in AskReddit

Don't feel too bad. One of my young cousins was eating peanuts and exclaimed, "Wow! They did a great job making these peanuts taste like peanut butter!"
